In this video we unbox and setup the new Milwaukee tool chest! There are a few key features and tips I also go over. Look out for a future review video once I get some time with it so I can have an honest review.

I never purchased a tool storage before, and I was in the market for a new one. I've been using a old school Craftsman that my dad handed down to me when he stopped working on cars. For my new set, I considered a Husky, US General Pro (Harbor Freight), Kirkland (Costco), Trinity, and Craftsman (which my father has been a big fan of). After learning that Craftsman tools are no longer Made in USA as they used to be during my father's time, I figured they're just overpriced Made in China products now. Matco, Snap-on, Mac, and other premium brands were way out of my budget. I couldn't make a decision on my own so I dug in deeper and tried to read & watch every possible review for each brand. Milwaukee definitely stood out from the crowd in the $400 - $700 range. My wife offered to get me the Milwaukee combo for my birthday present and I picked it up from Home Depot last night. I just finished putting the casters and the handle on and I love it already. I'm now a fan of Milwaukee!

Just bought one of these. Its everything I could want in a tool box. I know Im not getting the neat paint job, lifetime warranty or name recognition of Snap on but for under 1k price range this box is worth the risk. I like the powder coating. It seems very thick, durable and well done. The rubber bumpers on the corners were a great idea. Already bumped them into my other tool box moving it. No harm done thanks to the bumpers. The drawer slides work smooth and are currently the only self closing drawers at my house. Love that the power strips have usb ports.

Thats a very nice and well thought out box. Im kinda the same way, I have all my tools in a particular spot or drawer so putting things back into a new one into the same place does help. I love the power strips and pre-cut liners.

That's a nice box Brian. I was looking at this one as well. Ended up picking up a US General pro from Harbor Freight. I figured the Harbor one for junk, until I saw it in person. You wouldn't believe how good they are made.

Yeah i looked at the harbor freight one , looks like a big red fire truck . The steel is thin and cheap.

+Multi-Hobbyist i own both the top and bottom chest and the steel and quality is way better than husky. It was a special item only sold on black friday. This product also received a better review than the 800 dollar dewalt. To me the dewalt was lacking in features vs the Milwaukee such as the power plugs , top chest storage , handles on sides and slow closing doors. For 700 this tool chest was a great deal. I got 10 percent off so about 630.00 before tax.. Almost went with the kirkland tool chest 42" for 500.00 on sale retails for 599.00 Milwaukee destroys it

+CSIG1001 Very cool. I dont think the steel on my Husky is all that bad. I guess what is important, is that we both love what we have. All they do is hold tools. Thanks for the reply.

Is this toolbox water resistant? I need something to keep in the bed of a truck. If it's not would there be a way to help it keep water out in case of rain. Wouldnt mind doing some work to it to make it work out. Also does that pegboard come off? Would like to be able to bolt on metal hangers to it to hold wrenches. Reason for wanting to be able to bolt on is due to needing it in the bed of a truck that sees a lot of bumpy roads.

i like milwaukee tools, and i'm considering this box for work. do you think it would hold up in a diesel shop, or is this more for at home in the garage? i refuse to finance a box off a tool truck, but i don't want nice looking junk either. i'm also checking out sunex boxes. they seem to be tool truck quality at a more realistic price. what do you think?

Is this good for a starter mechanic? Or would you recommend going smaller? (space is a non-issue).
@FordTechMakuloco
@FordTechMakuloco 7 жыл бұрын
No this is a good box for a starter mechanic it's not too big like some of the other 72" boxes out there but still has room to grow. It really is a high quality box too so it should last for a long time.

I have a question regarding OBDII scanners. I have a 1995 f350 with the 7.3. I'm looking for a scanner that I can use my laptop with and read diagnostics from the engine and the e4od transmission. I would like to be able to see the shifts and the rpms before and at the shift points as well as trans temp. Do you have any suggestions? I know I can't afford the Snap-On MODIS, can only wish for this one right now. I like your new box, it looks very well made.

Look into Autoenginuty. It's the cheapest way that I have found to see the OEM side of the computer. It will to KOEO and KOER tests. You can actuate certain things depending on the vehicle. A 95 I think is still OBD 1 so you may need to pick up a used NGS with the correct cards for your vehicle.

+FrumpyFriend39 Perhaps, you would consider the Husky, tool chest combos? I looked around for an affordable box, with great reviews and, the Husky from Home Depot accomplished that. I kove my box. It is just like this box but, has more drawers and, a different layout. I think you should check them out. READ REVIEWS.
