Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I rushed my filming and production schedule, and as a result, not all of my current patrons are included in the end screen. I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to new patrons *Alexandre Martins, Bob Sauerbrey,* and *Jim Storch* for their support.

This was a very interesting video! As a big fan of Russian music, I'm really looking forward to the upcoming videos of the rest of the Mighty Handful! I especially love Balakirev's first symphony. He is so underrated in my opinion though (along with César Cui), as I've rarely seen his pieces performed live very often (or at least in my country of South Korea).

Thank you! His first symphony was a real treasure and I couldn't stop listening to it when I was putting this script together.

I enjoy Balakirev's 1st symphony as well. The 2nd Symphony is a fine work too. It stands in contrast to the 1st by way of it's compact, formally conservative approach. I have the later Svetlanov, recordings with the Philharmonia. A nice twofer with Tamara, Russia and the Overture on Three Russian Themes. From what I have read, the earlier Svetlanov recordings of the symphonies are more exciting. However, I'm quite happy with the Philharmonia set. It was an MHS release that I purchased many years ago.

Thank you for the kind words! I'm holding up fairly well thus far; although quarantined at my parents' house, there's a small but decent chance that I was one of the many lucky asymptomatic cases. Hope you're staying safe and well yourself!

I would have liked more specificity on what Balakirev’s favorite keys were. Was A Minor one of them? Borodin did an excellent job of turning this key often used to express sadness into the happy spirited music of his Third Symphony.

I met Aram Khachaturian (I see he's first in your Request Pool) the only time he came to the US. I played in the Honolulu Symphony as a student (composer, cello/voice). He was a gruff personality but had a wonderful teaching method and assisted in a Rhapsody For Orchestra I was composing at the time. Would be great to hear your analysis.
