Thanks for the video. We got caught out with the Mimaki CJV150. We let it sit for too long and now need a new printhead, costing around £2,500. Regarding the ink cartridges though, you can buy new chips for the cartridges from the likes of eBay or Aliexpress or if you get into the service mode, you can change the date on the printer to make use of the current inks without buying new chips.

Hi UK print shop - I am somehow pleased to hear that someone out there has experienced the same thing as us. We bought ours second hand and the seller failed to tell us to ensure we run the printer continuesly to avoid dry out of heads. Just curious as to wht you have decided to do Sell as is or Repair Australian dollars is about $5,000 K. A disaster we've never operated the machine.

Good, honest review! I have had a few Mimaki printers. They are good however the real question is why does the print heads only last 3-5 years when so expensive. Mimaki use Epson DX7 print heads and they cost too much considering how weak and common they are to die/fail. A commercial printer should have a strong robust print head that can go on for ever, not minutes. It is the biggest fail with all Roland and Mimaki printers. Wish it would get sorted out

Minaj I could release smaller cartridges for the semi-professionals at a third or quarter of a size and then it would make more sense for people like me 👍

You can switch chips so you don’t need to throw away ink. If you buy a machine like this or any commercial printers you need to run full time. Not for home use.

That is what became apparent, definitely not for home use. 👍

How do you compare that Mimaki CJV150-75 to ROLAND sg3-300 or Roland BN2-20A ? We cant decide between these...

@@182driver totally forget about the bn2-2oa, not worth it, i have a roland sp300 which has been running for years but has recently started to give problems so looking to upgrade it to the mimaki, roland are very good but i have heard a few times that their black inks can cause issues in the print heads and trust me, you dont want to pay for a new printhead, lol

all inks have an expiry date

Yes, but these cartridges are massive and there is no user-friendly smaller alternative

@@sprinklemoney yeah cause its a commercial printer. Like he said at the end. It needs to always using it and at the very end he said he never had print or cut issues its just really expensive. Bit off more than he could chew. He isn't blaming the printer.
