And you can almost hear the Dual Looping Delay crying "Why won't they play with meeeee ????" Actualy yes, why ? I feel that it is somehow in between those two (cleaner maybe ? but loops, delays, and also the possibility to modulate time without the pitch jumping everywhere).. I think I'll start with DLD and Magneto, but in my dreams I have an alternative case with Mimeophon and Tapographic, of course.
@OmriCohen-Music2 жыл бұрын
You know what, I guess that the DLD was the only delay module I actually used as a delay :) I think that the Mimeophon and Magneto are meant much more for sound design and not so much for a "normal" delay so that's why I didn't include the DLD, which is, as you mentioned, much cleaner and more fitting to use as a classic delay. I chose to sell mine eventually since I moved back to a smaller case and I wanted to keep the ones I used in more creative ways. That said, the DLD is quite a capable module indeed!

Thanks for the demo. Magneto is super cool but the lack of clock input is a no-go for my workflow. Mimeophon is more classical, when you already have other delays, it does not seem to be killer. I'm using Erica Synths Black Hole, E.S. multi FX, E.S. Pico DSP, Doepfer DSP, etc (and more with ES9 and VCV or my DAW).. So Magneto is really the one that will bring me something a bit different, alas the lack of sync for that price (and that size !) is a problem.
@alexwalli3 жыл бұрын
It is syncable. The bottom left input is the clock in. But if you need an argument against buying magneto immediately I havent said anything :)
@OmriCohen-Music3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you can sync it but you'll need a clock divider/multiplier to get different results...
@KNHSynths3 жыл бұрын
@@OmriCohen-Music You're right, but that's one more module to make use of an already expensive and big module. I don't like the idea. Internal or even external clock div/mult like the muxlicer for example will be perfect... (I love the latter; it is useful in many situations). Well, the search for the "perfect" delay will never end I suppose!
@KNHSynths3 жыл бұрын
@@alexwalli Yes it can be synched but only on the tempo of the clock itself, as Omri said it, for other tempi you need an external clock div/multiplier between your clock and magneto. I already have many effects and delays like the ES Black Hole or Strymon Timeline, ES pico DSP, Doepfer DSP etc, so I'm searching something that will bring something new. Magneto is cool but it takes a lot of places in the rack and need another module to process the clock. For that price it is not the droid I'm looking for :-)

@@OmriCohen-Music Thanks Omri. I understand that the tap input is used to set loop length in Loop and Sample mode. But what does the Clock input do in those modes? And what does it do compared to the tap input in echo mode? The manual does not seem clear to me. I need to experiment some more...
