As a MA disc golfer, who's only been playing a little over a year, Simon has frankly been my patron saint. I've watched his many videos, where he's played courses that I play regularly and have dreamt that I'd one day have the pleasure of meeting him and expressing my gratitutde for all he's done for my love of this sport. I watched his wins this year, not to mention the news of his son's birth and his recent wedding and could not be more happier for him. When I attended this year's MVP Open, my very first pro event, it just felt right to see Simon take it down, but after the first round, I too, thought that SImon's chances were slim, but as I got the chance to finally see "my guy" throw in person, it was still great, nonetheless. Yet I didn't give up hope, especially after his great 2nd round. Then, as I stood there on the final 18th hole, knowing that Corey and Linus were tie with him, I was on the edge of my seat. Simon, once again, you didn't disappoint. When you reached for the trophy, my voice couldn't help but chant, "Simon, Simon, Simon" and by the third "Simon" my voice joined everyone else's. Your victory made my first pro event so perfect, and like everything I've just described, I can't thank you enough. And one day, I'll thank you in person.
