Easiest way is to get an A7 flip over notebook. Or just a stack of Note Paper Refills. I used them for queue cards. You can then just bind them together with a hole punch and some string. As for the light, you can get an app for a light or just free hand the drawing.

I love papercraft, and this is one of the reasons why. Artists do amazing things with paper, from one page sculptures, to 3D origami sculptures, origami & kirigami, popup books & cards, interactive cards to household decor & furniture to even houses themselves. In reference to this 360 book, you can make your own star card - it doesn't have as much detail, but the concept is the same. Many people also use books as an art medium from page-folded books to altered books to book sculpturing. NEVER throw away a book - donate it to a local charity store so that paper artists can turn them into art! Thank you for showcasing this very unique booklet.

I have an idea for how you could use these books. I think it would be really cool would be if they made a special spinning platform you could put these things on. It could be a lamp. They should make 3D books that are black light reflective and you can mount them inside a plastic case that spins on top of a platform with black lights in it. You could open it up and change the books, so you could have different ones for different seasons or occasions. It's like the kind of thing that they would've sold at the Natural Wonders mall store in the 90's. Remember that store? They used to have all kinds of lava lamps and fiber optic lamps and plasma ball lamps in the front. My idea would've fit right in with that kind of stuff.

Lovely collection of 360 degree cards. Hokusai Sparrow Dance is amazing. I saw an exhibit of Hokusai's art work in Tokyo once. He created some very beautiful artwork. I've had a Japanese penpal since 1971 and we send each other Xmas and New Years pop-up cards each year. Some are 360 but the pop-up ones are very detailed, too. I put them all out every December and part of January on a table to look at. So many years of correspondence. Taking Japanese is hard work, but well worth it. I wish they had offered it back when I was in school, but nowadays there are so many ways to learn; on-line classes, apps, videos..... I have a big 360 degree pop up book of the seasons and I display it on a lazy Susan and that works pretty well. They make me think of zoetropes, too.
