I love this song and it's a good performance. But the best performance of Adagio is the one from The Singer competition 2017 in China and he also plays the piano there. In this version Dimash takes this song to another level. There is no version which is better than this one. The performance on The Singer is and will probably always be my favorite. In my opinion The Singer version is waaaay more emotional than the one from Sochi, 2018. But it’s all a matter of taste. There he literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the last episode of Uptown Funk. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see there that I’m not the only one. There are no "wrong" videos when it comes to Dimash but this performance of "Adagio" is actually considerably less spectacular than the one he did on the Chinese show, I Am Singer, in 2017.

I agree Roimer. Singer 2017 is the best version IMO because he was feeling pressure to raise his ranking, which he definitely achieved and got a first for that round. He was exhausted afterwards from the exertion of pouring every ounce of energy into the performance. Glad to run across you again. ❤🎉❤

Every performance by Dimash is different and always stunning.. Yes. If you think this one was emotional, wait until you see that one. There was something just absolutely mind-blowing about that one. It took me days to recover, and even now it is questionable because I still can't watch it enough.

I really wish you to have the opportunity to see Dimash live: this is a life experience. Because he gives everything on stage, not only his voice but his heart, his soul, his dreams, his creativity... really everything. His stage presence and his connection to the crowd are unique, and his performances are incredibly powerful. I was in his Almaty concert where he performed his absolute masterpiece The Story of One Sky for the first time: it was the most powerful musical experience of my life, even if I could not understand all the lyrics and the story (the music video was released the day after the concert in another event for his fans). Dimash on stage is something special: he is does not perform for the celebrity, for showing off or the money, he performs because his life is on stage, he literally breathes and bleeds music.In one week, I will be in Budapest for his next concert, and in one month, in Istanbul for the other one, for his birthday. So impatient, because I know it will be incredible, unforgettable. He is the next level, an absolute genius, and all his Dears should have the opportunity to see him life.

After this perf, Lara congratulated Dimash and Igor Krutoy, who collaborated with Lara during years, reached him and proposed to write songs for him. Igor also offered Dimash to cover some of the songs he wrote in the past and Dimash selected 4 songs, 3 were songs from Lara that Igor and Lara had co-created together. Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonata, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and gave his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music compositions, mostly operatic, and different lyrics (the band Renaissance, Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in italian then co-wrote the english lyrics for it and is the original performer of these 2 versions. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. I agree with you that the quality of this video does not do justice to what he's doing and the effect he has on his audience. I see that someone says he's showing off, which he definitely is not. His entire performance, vocally and accompanying body language proves otherwise. Nevertheless, I saw a reaction lady of a lady who featured both Dimash and Lara, breaking the song down at perfect intervals, to compare each of these parts. The result was amazing: so many similarities! To me it proved the fact that Dimash follows this woman so closely and that much of what he does he has picked up from her. In the same breath I dare say that I place Lara first. There's just something about your reactions that I find so tremendously uplifting...I suppose things like your energy, enthusiasm, you always being lively with never a dull moment...all adding to beaut and wonderful moments you create... If that makes any sense BUT above all I love all of what you do here Conella, creating the perfect platform where people can join in and, of course voluntarily, collaborate with you.
