this version is Charlie in his 70’s.As a younger man the lyrics in first verse were I get stoned in the morning, get drunk in the afternoon and last verse was I don’t want much of nothing but I would take another toke. He decided he didn’t want to promote drugs And the original rocks a little more because in the 1970’s he was considered southern rock

It is the artist's perogative to change lyrics but it's also why I didn't listen to his later music because I never trusted an artist who does an 180 degree turn in his views, makes me wonder if he was true in the first place.

@@bobcorbin3294 after reading his book he admitted to drinking to much early in his career, but always was a christian until he died.Don’t think he ever changed his beliefs just got more vocal about them as the country started turning away from them

Charlie found religion. He quit drinking and cussing and took all the bad language out of his songs.

As someone else said, this performance was when he was older. When you react to another CDB song, you should look for one when they were younger.

It's so nice to see you "chair dancing" when you are feeling a song! I do this all the time, and even get up and dance around the room if I'm loving the beat. This is what music is all about!

Been through watching your country journey and great to see another Brit loving some country. Few songs I'd suggest listening to as they are some my favourites however they do come with a warning they are very emotional which what I find great about country is all tell a story. 1st is 2 songs that tell a story so good to listen to together which is Thomas Rhett "Marry me" followed by "remember you young". Then they is Blaine Larsen "How you get that lonely". And finally Matt Kennon "The Call". Hope you enjoy 👍

I got to see Charlie in the early 90's, he had the whole crowd whipped up In a frenzy. He was so good! This crowd looks pretty reserved comparing

Love Charlie. Such a sweet man and helped veterans a lot. Trudy. The South's Gonna Do It Again are some more great songs by CDB. R.I.P Charlie

Just found your channel and have enjoyed all Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, Charlie Daniels and all the other country stars you have posted. Since you have also gone outside of country I would suggest you check out Gordon Lightfoot's ballad, "The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." It's a story of the shipwreck on Lake Superior off of the Michigan and Wisconsin States. It's a real heartbreaker. The ship was one of the largest Great Lakes Freighters and the song is haunting.

Try Whey Jennings, Waylon's Grandson & Johnny Cash's Grandson singing The Highway Men!! If your eyes are closed, you'd think it was Waylon!! P. S. I definitely agree with Wooly Swamp!! 💯💯

You've got to react to BIG BAD JOHN by Geoff Castellucci. This man is an incredible singer and you won't be disappointed. He sings all parts of the song by himself, hence his "clones".

Could you do a video reaction to Jelly Rolls “Save Me “ and “Need a Favor “? I think you will love them! His voice is amazing and his lyrics are heartfelt and touching. Oh, and don’t judge him by the way he looks! He has an incredible life story and has become a favorite of mine. Another great Charlie Daniel’s song is “The legend of wooly swamp”

I am a new subscriber. I came across your reaction, an absolute pleasure and plan to watch more both past and present. I see you like story telling, you might try some Bluegrass country music. A good one to start with is "Silver Ghost" by Wildwood valley boys.

Oh, darlin', you need to listen to the original! This us nice, but the overall impact is lost. We get calmer and gentler as we age, Charlie included.
