Classic "grass is greener" mental conflict. Rather than pursue physical reality affirmations and acceptance; the mind attempts to reshape reality in pursuit of a perceived "better reality", based on inner feelings. Basic self-delusion seeking external confirmation.

@@ContemplateNow Objective reality is the domain of third person science. Nature just is and has little to do with how we experience life. That is first person. You are confusing categories Btw, nature do not have labels like male and female and no expectations of how one should behave according to these labels. There are correlating features like cromosom, sex organs and secondary sexual characteristics, desires etc. Natural reality doesn't tell you how to navigate the boundaries or whether they should or shouldn't be crossed. We invent the labels and create the boxes. Nature just is. .

Men are not oppressed qua sex, but are oppressed (like women) qua class, qua race, qua being not neurotypical
@onepartyroule
@onepartyroule 2 ай бұрын
@14:45 They're not equivalent though, are they. When someone who isn't trans says they don't want to be called "cis", they're refusing an optional belief or ideological label (the concept that all people "identify" as their sex or gender, rather than that they're accepting a practical label for a category that can be empirically measured). When trans people say they want to ditch the "trans" suffix it's because of a belief they have that imagining you've changed sex means it's literally happened, or that words referring to the sexes should be optional, neither of which is not empirically verifiable.
@fernandogajo8800

Why are you talking about equivalency when she was just pointing out how much variety there is in the discourse?
@cyprusmarques9360
@cyprusmarques9360 Ай бұрын
The usage of terms like "cis" are for scientific clarity, not for the sake of ideological conviction. Being able to distinguish between trans people and cis people is crucial for both research purposes and general terminology. Is using the word "neurotypical" to describe individuals without any mental disabilities or problems akin to accepting an ideological conviction? i would think its not... regardless of your personal feelings on the matter.
@onepartyroule
@onepartyroule Ай бұрын
@@cyprusmarques9360 Who do you think you're kidding? No, "cis" is not a scientific word, or used "for scientific clarity". It is an ideological word used to coerce people into believing that all people identify into something called "gender"; a word that somehow means something, yet is no longer contingent upon sex. In other words, to justify a male person calling himself a "woman" (a sex-based category) rather than a "trans-woman" (a gender identity category). Do we have any other words -- apart from terms that are part of, or related to, religious ideology -- that identify people by what they're _not?_ We don't because that would be ridiculously unnecessary and impractical, and in the case of ideological words, presumptive. Do people who are not jewish go around identifying as a gentiles? Do we call people who havent self identified as "Atheist" Atheists? The answer is almost invariably no, because of the aforementioned reasons.
@onepartyroule
@onepartyroule Ай бұрын
@@cyprusmarques9360 There's no such thing as "neurotypical" for the general population. Neurotypical is used when comparing an individual who _has_ a specific non-typical neuronal function in their brain. It's only used in that context because there's no reason to point out that you don't have something divergent. It's also used to describe biological function, not psychological identity.

@@onepartyroule Well we call people gay when they arent straight and straight when they arent gay. I never said anything about identifying people as what they were "not". Did you actually read my comment or just extrapolate based on your personal convictions? Terms for clarity purposes have always been around. I was stating there are terms for individuals who ARE something. Cisgender does not mean you are not transgender; it means you are someone who feels no conflict with your sex assigned at birth and who in some respects identifies with the social/gender role assigned to you. If you personally dont feel as though you have a gender that's perfectly fine but that has little to no bearing on the vast majority of individuals many of which who are cisgender who identify strongly with a certain set of sex characteristics/behaviors/social roles. It is astounding to me that people like you play the role of an intellectual when the groundwork for this sort of discussion has already been set for years ahead of time based on robust research.

@11:17 Well, you have a personal investment in playing down the difference that having a male or female body makes to a person's experience, which, I can only suppose, is why you compared us to a completely different species. That male and female human bodies are more similar than human bodies are to mantis shrimps does not imply that the differences that do exist between men and women do not have meaningful implications.
@MrOliverdunn
@MrOliverdunn 2 ай бұрын
Sophie said much the same, she said there is less of a difference between human men and human women than there is between humans and shrimp. Implying she believes that your physical body dictates (to an extent) the way you perceive the world, yourself, and how the two interact. It sounds like you're saying her argument is personally biased (something she'd probably agree with you on btw) but your argument actually doesn't conflict with anything she said in the section your quoting?

Sophie is contradicting herself and forgetting that very young children are entirely dependent on their guardians and what they claim is selfishness is really basic needs. I do find it interesting because they are using gender-bending chemicals and psychologically there are masculine and feminine energies flowing through all of us. If God is an androgynous entity then we who were made in that image must also be androgynous.

I think some psychological issues are at play and treatment in some cases does show results. People worry about our children being influenced or brainwashed, to think this is ok so let it happen its normal. When in fact it's pedophilia being permitted in fear of being called some unrealistic phobic. When a person is of voting age or old enough to provide for themselves, then they're free to do as they like provide it's not harming anyone else. Otherwise their minors and the parents have absolute authority over their children, again as long as no harm is being done to said child. Do as one likes but let children be children. Have a great day. Peace 😎 ✌️ from Canada, eh.

You have no clue what you’re talking about, it’s all just prejudice based on moral panic over children, an old reactionary trope. What we’re talking about is puberty blockers, which delay the puberty. Imagine going through puberty in the wrong body, that’s what puberty blockers prevent. It’s not about transition, for that you have to wait until you’re an adult.

@ainnochaim9450
@ainnochaim9450 Ай бұрын
It is quite literally the opposite. No one is saying how people must, or even ought, feel. It's has always been about gender ideologues telling everyone else how they must feel about trans identified people and worse, forcing women to stay quiet while adult human males are let into our spaces, shelters, sports, bathrooms, changing rooms, locker rooms, and prisons. The mental gymnastics is women being told that we are simply an identity, a costume, and a behavior. We are none of those things.

@ainnochaim9450 How many times did a trans woman (or how you put it, "adult human males", which I assume you are referring to the trans woman), invaded your space? Yeah, sports are a delicate issue. I can see how that's a valid debate to be had. But to go as far as to denny the possibility of the existence of trans people is what can be called gender ideology. Acknowledging trans people is just being open to see reality as it really is.
