LOVE this conversation! And also the conversation that you recently posted on your current podcast. I am highly interested in the area of intermittent hypoxia induced by breathing. In the current podcast, Dr. Huberman, you mentioned you have a high interest in the difference between high lung volume and low lung volume breath holds…and hypocapnic vs hypercapnic hypoxic training. I have a pilot study running out to APU and NYIT in Long Island, and we are beginning to look at the effects of hypercapnic, hypoxic breathing on body composition, strength, and basal metabolic rate. We are excited to continue research in this area and hopefully get a bigger grant next time! I am CURIOUS of the POSITIVE impact that you know of of purposely inducing hypercapnia and hypoxia by performing “empty lung” breath hold. I would be interested in speaking with you on this work that I am doing :-)

My goodness, I wish the host could just have been 90% quieter and let the guest speak. So many interjections just when the guest was getting to something interesting.
