This is just too good. Yes this is indeed the power of us Singaporeans, Singlish and our culture. We tend to look down on this, but it actually brings so much efficiency, cut down long-winded stories and is a bond between us.

I'm from Hong Kong. Singlish seems difficult. Sometimes we feel a bit ashamed when we cannot speak proper English. But Singaporeans feel proud of their own accent and many inventive words.

I have been gone for too long,34 years. I don’t remember Singaporean speaking in this manner. The first time I read an article about Singlish was in The Straits Time. The only word I remember was Singapore would pronounce snacks as snakes. There was a comic about an airline hostess severing snacks to a passenger and she asked “ would you like some snake?” It’s hilarious. This image strikes me for about 50 years. It’s still very fresh

True. My Singaporean uncles and aunties didn’t get it from my siblings speaking with British accent. They understand me by write with simply English (but not accurately English because sometimes I used Deaf English because I am deaf). My uncles and aunties told me about my English was not enough! 😆. Wah! Banana you should a skit on the term "prawn capital" of the world - Ayden Sng claims that foreign women's nick name for Singaporean men is "prawn". Basically that a lot of Singaporean guys work out so have nice bodies but not the faces to go with it. So one eats a prawn for the meaty body and throws the head out. He commented on the podcast that maybe it's because of lack of fashion sense which also is another funny topic of the "Uniqlo uniform" that Singaporean men all seem to have in their closet. Would be funny to do a spoof of it.
