Reading your book. I'm 1/2 way through. Thank you so much for bringing this to the forefront of medicine. I'm 67. Retired RN, after 38 years. Travelled to central , south America. EUROPE. ETC. I am from Queens, NY . I also vacationed with my family to New Hampshire, Pennsylvania. I'm also Irish Catholic. I also have Chronic Lymes Disease. Only for the last 2 years. Covid brought out this. My symptoms started at menopause in 2010. Thank you again.

Same with my son and I, but ours came from mold toxicity, but we had covid and my son has long Covid, and the others now. He’s in so much pain and neurological distress!

This is packed with info! Thank you! My grown son has mold, Lyme, long Covid with horrible neurological and psychological symptoms, and I’m his caregiver, but we are both disabled. I’ve had lots more at 68 and had to retire from my teaching career. This includes several autoimmune diseases, infections(including pseudomonas aeriginosa from having my breast implants removed), mold toxicity, chronic pain, severe fatigue and now Lyme. It’s a nightmare! I hope Lyme is my last infection, but you said it right: you know you’ll never be great, but I’d like to live well. I never knew why Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, which I think I have, caused chronic pain. Thank you! New subscriber, here!

At 13: 00 "One of the terrifying things about Lyme, is not just that it's/can be a debilitating chronic disease in some subset of patients, who get it and just never get better, but that on top of it, when you are one of those patients, your very existence is discredited and invalidated by the entire medical system, that's supposedly there to help support you. So I felt I had woken up into a nightmare". The fact that Long Covid patients all got massively sick at the same time, worked very much in their favor. For the first patients got the same idiotic responses as those with chronic Lyme Disease get, that you're probably overly stressed or that it's all in your head. But then there were so many normal and normally functioning people All at once, that the medical world figured out it was real. The other day I saw a long list of what long Covid patients can deal with and I was baffled by it, for the symptoms roughly are 80-90% of what those with chronic Lyme Disease have! Perhaps this will be our chance to also get a breakthrough for chronic Lyme Disease. Perhaps we ought to call it all together Post-Infection-Disease. The one caused by bacteria, the other by a virus, yet the body gets totally dis-regulated and can't get back to normal. I so hope this will be thoroughly studied from many perspectives, so we overcome these illnesses, or at the very least overcome the intensely hurting false psychological 'diagnoses' of lazy 'doctors'. The discrimination chronically ill patients have to endure is immense and devastating! You already have a body that hurts all the time with serious pain and that is tired beyond exhaustion, and then people, who don't know you and what you stand for and what you accomplish, call you a neurotic, who's illness is just in the head... No words on how devastating such remarks are. It's like you can see the color yellow and thus describe it to others, but they laugh at you and call you crazy for it, the more when you start to explain green and orange as well. They are the insufficient ones! They ought to be utterly ashamed for betraying the trust of their patients this badly.
