@@thebat7048 not a let down but it does have very incredible story. So the complete viewing experience is not very impressive. But purely as standalone movie its not bad. yes its Silence of the Lambs. Its directed well and the casting and acting is not bad. its actually good. The screenplay is also well written and does build up the mystery and suspense. The best thing is that this movie does not feel cheap or lacking in effort in any way. The production values are neat and cinematography does capture the tone of suspense and catastrophe quite well. The movie does fail at the climax. Now the first thing is whether you "accept" the ending or not. If you are willing to look beyond the logic of the incredible double twisted ending then the conclusion lacks the punch. There just isn't enough drama or shock to complete the movie. In fact that could be said of the movie in entirety. The shock and drama that movie could generated given how it presented some really twisted themes is lacking. It seems that the makers were not very confident of the impression of the ending themselves so they are just not able to create the drama that should have concluded the movie. If you have decided to go for a completely twisted ending then use it effectively. Both the twists at the end are presented way too casually. Not just the end but throughout the narrative movie is not able to create the impact it could have with its plot development and twists. Those big moments that make you jump out or leave you shocked are not there. That is where you need that extra effort from the director and screenwriter to show their skills and go above the ordinary. As for acting. John Malkovich is mainstay. The movie rests on his shoulders and he is very good in playing these eccentric type characters well. The lead actress is good. She plays the character well and her timing is good. sadly our man Martin Lawrence is kind of hard done. His role is not insignificant but he really does not any big moment. When his time comes the movie kind of rushes to its conclusion. Still I give this. a 6.5. I liked it. I like these investigative stories. It has a bonkers ending. And the cast do well.

I just watched this and it was on par with Tommy Wiseau's The Room. Why was John Malkovich in this? It's a very strange movie... was it made by AI?
