That is a nice heavy PSU Jack. I'm sure you will find a use for it. I can just see it now coming to see Jack and Mrs. VEG in their new home with antenna twirling at every corner of the place. LOL. Glad you guys are having fun. :)

Doug, I temporarily have it in line until I can bring my 50 amp in here....but first I need to build a radio cabinet, but first I need to clean the mountain of electronics I have around my work bench out! You know how it! :) We are enjoying playing radio when time is there...which isn't much! We are looking forward to growing our antenna farm after we move....and we cant wait until that happens! Thanks! ~Jack, VEG

Excellant junkin OM! SBE, aka Sideband Engineers iffin I remember correctly, were the cats meow on sideband. When you exodus out of Commpornia, perhaps you'll find a house with 100+ ft tower. Your ham radio shack will be well equipped. You'll become quite the world traveler in DX. CB rafio is kewl, qrp to us hams, radios are not bad, it's the lid operators that abuse it. i have the Regency Imprrial and Lafayette HE20c tube CBs in my collection. There are some CBers that take it seriously, it still can be fun. I'm gettin the ham bug, got to fix my Gap antenna for my Yaesu, and dipole for my Drake tr4, damage control from storms. much enjoyed, Don.

I really like the SBE and cant wait to use it! The YL & I are hoping to get a minimum of 10 acres but wouldn't mind 100 plus out in the sticks somewhere and out of Commifornia and growing a antenna farm is most definitely going to happen! I don't mind QRP...as long as its 1KW! :) The Browning is a beautiful sounding radio, it will be in a up coming video...not the main subject but being used. I'm not a big fan of lids...but then again, who is besides other lids! :) Don, get back on the radio, I have been having a blast when I do...even CB, I find there are a lot of HAMs on CB...38 LSB is very hot...10 meter I've only made a few contacts...11 meters is where the action is. 73's OM ~Jack, VEG

Wow Jack! The psu to me is screaming out for an ammeter on the front, the HP multimeter is a slightly different model to mine and secondhand in the UK £400 all day long. 6.5 digit, super accurate and rarely needs any calibration as it is so reliable. You got a bargain on the ssb radio! Is it rockbound or PLL? Scanner isn't really my thing but it does look useful. The dummy load is nice, looks good to around a Ghz if the N type connector is anything to go by. Those SBE sets are unusual, never seen things like that over here. Rotators are always useful.. reminds me, just have to service mine! Great video Jack. Keep well!

Howdy George! I've been wanting to mod a PSU like that...maybe I'll practice on a smaller one before I take on mod'ing my Astron RS50. The HP MM, will be a nice addition to the bench, yeah I've seen other YTrs with them and liked them, so at this price, I am very happy to have one, when I get the new display, Ill do a video. Yes, CB radios here are selling for stupid money...even basic hand held microphones, is wild....I have been looking at maybe ordering one from the UK, but I'm not sure anymore how imports like that will be treated...I know at one time it would have been a crime...but I wouldn't mind having one. The Browning is X-tal but I don't think its 1 rock per 4 channels, I think its more for mixing but I don't remember what the SM stated, will need to look again...I do wanna experiment with it and a signal generator to see what happens, a future video. Even if you dont use a scanner as intended, they still can be useful on a RF workbench, just a quick down and dirty to see if your radio is TXing on freq or just to hear the audio from the radio such as mic check, etc..so some value. I haven't tried the dummy load that high yet, my 23cm base radio still needs work and my 23cm HT probably wouldn't tickle it! :) Hope to do a video on the SBE one day....rotators are indeed nice to have, the prices on those things even light duty TV ones are crazy price anymore! Thanks and 73's OM! ~Jack, VEG

@@VintageElectronicsGeek I did my Astron RS35 with one of those cheap chinese volt/ammeters with an external shunt, I do have another Astron to do but its a switch mode unit. Imports to the US are easy but like stuff we get from the US its the shipping that kills it. The exchange rate is more favourable for you too, where a dollar is a pound at the moment because the UK is almost a third world country these days because of our useless government.

Those SBE radios I think I know the guy who sold those he had them before guess he decided to drop the price he originally wanted $50 each you got a steal buddy. With all of those rotators you could put up a snazzy beam. All in all you got some great buys.

@@LarryDeSilva64 Once our commitments are over and done, we are gone, that's the only thing holding us back or we would have left abt 3 years ago or so....TN was a state of interests, unfortunately to many folks have moved there, we have seen price increase. also not good when a bunch of folks move in an area...they have the plausibility of bringing some of there views which may not be good for the new area...we are looking at other states, we will keep an eye open on TN just the same. ~Jack, VEG

@@VintageElectronicsGeek yeah I have noticed the same thing when I moved here to Nevada 11 years ago. When I came here it was way more conservatives than Liberals. Las Vegas had the major population but since all the building has been going on in my area I see tons of California plates mostly from Southern Cal so you know more Liberals there. So right now when i got here we had about 200,000 in the county now we are at almost 300,000 and the houses are still going in. There are 4 building projects each covering 300 to 400 acres each and all on Military road only 2 blocks from my house. Not just single family homes but condos and apartment complexes. But have they ever thought ahead and widened Military road or put signal lights in to slow down traffic nope instead they put a clover leaf at the lemmon valley off ramp off 395. I'm getting to old to pack up and move again.
