@@sunday1409 spider man 1 was like a homage to Neversoft spider man on ps1 including how he web swing when the web isn't attaching to anything it had the same issues that ps1 spider man and later in tasm 1 & 2 games and u couldn't be on the ground as well just like ps1 spider man. but in this game it was the first open world spider man that has interactive citizens when exploring through the streets, and u can actually be on the ground, web swing that actually attached to the buildings, u can tie up enemies to the traffic lights there was soo many side missions and things that u can do this shit was ahead of it's time and it's nothing like spider man 1 which that game pretty much spider man ps1 with a movie tie in plot.

I really loved this game. This was one of the best superhero games. For its time, i was really impressed by the ragdoll physics, the graphics for its time, the swinging, the day and night cycle, the map and my god , there were so many godamn interiors.

The map was so detailed in this game, that when I first visited NYC at 10, my mom said I knew my way around the city just by looking at the buildings. I would admire all the skyscrapers and get so excited when I had an idea of which part of the city we were in 😂 I remember we were about to start heading back to our family’s house in New Jersey, but I wanted to find a certain unique building I saw in the game before we left. I remember we went walking around for like 30 minutes cuz I could “feel” that we were getting close. At some point, we actually found the building and I just remember feeling like a million bucks! Not only did it look cooler in person, but it made me feel like I was in the game! A dream come true for 10-year old me who played this game all the time as a kid 😁

I just asked my mom more about when we visited NYC when I was 10, and she said that when we went to the top of the Empire State Building, I was pointing out different landmarks and buildings that I recognized from the game. And later when we got lost in the city near the library, she said her and my dad checked the map to see which way to go for our next destination and we were going to head one way, but I said “I think it’s this way” and they followed me and it ended up being the right way. I remember them cheering me on when we got to where we needed to go.

This title was amazing, perhaps the greatest movie game I've ever played. That phenomenon surrounding games looking nowhere near as real as you remember back in the day, is caused by modern monitors stretching out graphics which were designed to be played on a blocky TV. One quick remaster job, and you'll all find this game holds up incredibly well.

This is actually my favorite game of all time. It takes ages to get the controls and do everything right, I will admit... BUT... when you're a pro, it NEVER stops being fun. Once you master the manual (MAXIMUM PRECISION) swinging in this game, It's WAAAAAY better than the PS4 games. You can't even do loops in the new ones, but it is possible (and eventually becomes easy) in Spider-Man 2 once you build up enough momentum and skill. It looks derpy and "cwinge" for first time players, but I feel that was a perfect and hilarious introduction that just made me fall in love with this game. Props to the developers for actually rewarding practice and grind. It always feels like you're learning how to swing more efficiently. Just keep listening to everything Bruce Campbell has to say and mastering the gameplay becomes so freaking fun.

I remember wanting this so bad as a kid but being told no because it was rated T (radical pseudo-religious parents). The tagline on the cover, “there’s nowhere you can’t go,” was tantalizing as someone who always prioritized exploration over anything else in a game.
