My Daddy and I were outside planting pine seedlings on our northwest Florida farm on a cloudy, slightly rainy day when we heard a heavy airplane sound coming from the west. We looked toward the sky and saw, to our amazement, a large jet carrying the space shuttle! We stood and watched until it passed from our sight over the eastern horizon. We had heard that the space shuttle had landed at Edwards Air Force Base and knew they had to fly it back to Cape Canaveral. We never dreamed it would pass over our farm! We felt so honored to have seen such an amazing sight!

You should see and HEAR the big jets coming over Carrollton for days now! It starts around 5-6 am, goes non-stop every 5 minutes. The loudness drives me nuts so I crank up the sound on my computer to try to ignore them. I hear lots of weird "things" flying over almost every night. I know what jets, big airplanes, helicopters, etc. sound like but a number of times at night there are strange things making strange sounds going over. No, I don't watch the shi$ anymore. Had enough after years of living near Lake Dallas. There goes a private plane, don't have to see them, I know the sounds. Doesn't really matter what they "look" like. You will see what you are suppose to see anyway. It's certain levels of vibrations that are...different. I've always had a sensitivity to very high and low frequencies. Had to learn to tune it out. Those ion things drive me up the wall. There are so many sounds most people can't hear. Have to learn to adapt to them. Echhhhh! But I'm real good at knowing when your fridge or equipment is going out.. Haha! Don't quit your day job tho, no $$$ in it.

1:00 My family lives on a large pond. I don't EVER remember it singing as a child oddly enough. Now an adult, I came back to live in the small cottage down by the water for a few years (sounds boujee-it's not, but it is a blessing non the less). My first time hearing it I was amazed and a little haunted as it was after sunset. I guess it needs to be at the right thickness? Maybe as the sun went down and it got colder it happened. I LOVE that sound now. Just a simple story I'd thought I'd share =p I hope you all have a great week ahead.

That's true, but it's Danish and has been since 1700, the Huns, and Denmark pays 2-3 billion dollars in support to Greenland every year. Without that help, they would freeze or starve to death. It's Denmark that keeps Greenland alive, and therefore Greenland is also part of the Danish kingdom, Danish laws & Danish police, and Danish hospital system... In short, Greenland is Danish and it will remain that way!

I was searching for this message because I wanted to be the first to post it. When driving through hot and desert like areas you can see them all the time. This one is quite impressive but indeed harmless. I’ve driven past one many times. I rather have a couple of these than a sandstorm in which you suddenly can’t see your own hands while holding them up.
@DugWagner13 күн бұрын
Tell that to the guy in the hang glider! 😉
@davidc.w.290813 күн бұрын
@@DugWagner It won’t even hurt the glider. First of all, the glider is higher than the top of the dust devil. Second the dust devil is very narrow and so easy to avoid and even when the glider is lower it won’t do much. I have stand close to them. It only throws around some dust and sand. The speed is not that high and often lasts less than a minute.
