I don’t think she’s underrated. She’s amazing! She has/has had so many top rated shows! And she started out on the office, which is an all time hit. She won three Guild Awards for The Office. She’s won 10 awards total and had multiple hit shows. The Office, The Mindy Project, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Never Have I Ever, and now The Sex Lives of College Girls. She’s a published author and received an award for her book as well. She’s epic.

I think what the person above me said and also I think in some cases (especially with a character as goofy as Morgan) the other actors try to stay in character so that they can maybe still use it. Like the Danny/Morgan part where Ike is dying and Chris is sighing annoyed feels like he’s trying to keep it in the Mindy project universe if that makes sense lol

Barinholtz breaks a lot, like to an unprofessional degree, probably the reason he doesn't have any regular tv work since the mindy project besides voice roles, you can tell other actors in the scenes are annoyed by how easily he screws up, like it's funny a bit but they also want to finish the scene and get out of there, the scene with Rob is a good example, he's doing Mindy Kaling a favor being on her show and Barinholtz just keeps breaking like Jimmy Fallon on SNL

I was wondering that and thinking that as well but if you think about it, the humor on the show is something you’d have to actively work not to instinctively laugh at, so it could be that or that the dialogue and antics requires them to try to stay in character as much as possible so they aren’t just laughing through the entire process of shooting. part of the reason why I even looked for these bloopers is because I was watching clips and thinking to myself that there is absolutely no way they don’t absolutely lose it at most of the dialogue. Ike’s entire character is utter absurdity which is incredibly hard to genuinely portray without becoming self aware of it and I’m thinking since he was originally a writer that he possibly wrote or improvised a lot of his own parts or dialogue and I know that if I put in the things I found the funniest for my own character I’d have a really hard time not cracking up over them. But the other possibility does make sense too. I guess I’d also have a hard time working with a really good friend and not trying to have a blast. He may have even been crushing on her irl which would definitely make me act goofier and less professional and explain how he was able to portray Morgan’s thirst so well. *shrug*
