Cardiopulmonary bypass, done usually during heart surgery to stop the heart with a machine that acts like a heart and lung, it is also used to regulate the blood throughout the body and keep minimal blood loss as to not require a lot of donated blood (I don’t exactly know 100% about this field but that’s what I understand)
