Commissioner here. This matchup is one I ADORE, both of these insane aliens are capable of so much and are such lively characters I cannot help but love. Its honestly the Marvel vs DC I wanna see the most, and I honestly don't know who takes it. Yates KILLED it with this track, the rough guitars coupled with the orchestra really sells their insanity and megalomaniacal natures coupled with their absolute desire to have EVERYTHING. I can absolutely see the episode starting with Annihilus being attracted to the Orange Lantern Power Battery like a moth to a flame, only for Larfleeze to fiercely defend his most prized possession. This track is MINE, its one I adore and I cannot *WAIT* to hear the lyrical version.... yeah, that's incoming.... Stay tuned.

This is how I Imagine it: Fight Setup: The horde of the Annihilation Wave exits the negative zone, consuming planet after planet, until it reaches Larfleeze's home planet. As the swarm descends on the planet, a large blast of Orange light erupts, Vaporizing several of Annihilus's minions Larfleeze: THIS PLANET IS MINE! He summons several Orange lantern constructs to fight back, and one of them is shattered by a blast of the cosmic control rod which is in Annihilus's grip. Annihilus: ANNIHILUS WILL NOT BE DENIED Annihilus looks at the orange lantern before him, seeing his lantern, as well as his ring. Larfleeze sees the Cosmic control rod. Both of them lock eyes at each other's respective artifacts... before coming to a single and complete thought. Larfleeze/Annihilus: I WILL TAKE WHAT IS MINE! The two of them, fully aware of the power each of them possess, charge at each other.

Can't believe a track called "Mine, Mine and Mine" isn't about the Finding Nemo seagulls. Smh my head... Jokes aside, damn this song goes hard. I don't know anything of either beyond the fact that Larfleeze makes the average politician seem like an altruistic and generous person and that Annihilus follows in a relatively similar vein but the song really get across a distinct feel of anger, rage and sheer brutal insanity. The use of extremely heavy guitars as the main instrument to add impact is something that's quite appreciated. Not only does it add impact, scale and a real feeling of brutality to the track as said above but in general it sounds great. Combined with the various uses of secondary instruments that are much higher pitched and you really get across this feeling of insanity that, while not as direct as something heard in Laughing Mad or Those Chosen Transcend, still is *felt* instead of being outright heard. For example, the whole segment starting at 2:21 or the recuring motif first heard at the very start of the song which use very quick bursts of what I think are violins are great examples of that. Those segments feel scattered and unfocused, like a mad person desperately looking and chasing after something (something fitting given the greedy nature of both characters along with Annihilus's complete obsession with his power rod). Of course they also sound absolutely magnificent and combine wonderfully with the heavy and gritty main guitar but that much's obvious. Another thing I want to note beyond the great characterization is the fact that I'm pretty sure there's an Emerald Heroes reference in the track. The 0:38-0:51 motif (which is heard again throughout the song) is actually one that's also featured in the aforementioned track. Now I don't know if it was done on purpose or if it's accidental but if it's done on purpose it's a wonderfully fitting small reference: the use of a "stolen" motif from another Lantern Corps' member perfectly fits the tone of the matchup and Larfleeze in particular because, well, he's a Lantern Corps member. Especially like how it sounds like a much more agressive and almost distorted version of the Emerald Heroes version of the motif; gets across wonderfully how whatever those two steal they twist and destroy to fit their image (once again something that fits Larfleeze well given every person he kills "joins" him as an Orange Lantern construct). Great way to include an existing motif into a track without it overshadowing the rest of the original song and all the while making it feel truly meaningful and not just there for show. Overall this song is one that I didn't expect to enjoy that much I'll admit. I was just expecting an "average bad guy track" and while it technically is, I feel like it stands out a whole lot, especially given all the well-made character-related additions to the track and the wonderfully included Emerald Heroes reference (again, assuming it's done on purpose but it seems too fitting to be accidental). It's a track that sounds good, has a very good dynamic and fits the characters greatly. Amazing job as always.

The connections between Annihilus and Larfleeze are that they are both greedy, xenophobic aliens who use a simple object attached to their bodies for their power source, but it allows them to bend the cosmos to their will and it will do anything they want (Cosmic Control Rod/Orange Lantern Ring). They have an extreme lust for power to the point where they’re viewed as the embodiments of greed, and they seek to conquer and keep everything for themselves. Both are also generally associated with the word “mine” (Annihilus referring to the Negative Zone as his own/Larfleeze calling everything he gets his hands on his own). Their armies are made completely out of corpses from either their victims or their own kind. The fight would be animated using sprites. The Annihilation Wave has arrived to feed off of this planet, Annihilus leading the horde. *Annihilus: What a miserable looking mud-ball, no life, no treasure, a complete waste of space… perfect for a feast, READY THE HARVESTER!* -he commands, and the insect like aliens power up the Harvester of Sorrows, and are about to use it to destroy the planet and turn it into food for the Annihilation Wave, when suddenly, an orange laser beam blasts the minions powering it up to smithereens. Cue “Mine, Mine and Mine!” 0:00 Annihilus turns towards the direction the laser came from and sees a feather ugly looking creature wearing a bright glowing orange suit, it’s Larfleeze, and he’s mad. *Annihilus: How dare you, filthy animal. I claim this world as my banquet, in the name of the Negative Zone, the Annihilation Wave!* *Larfleeze: No no no No NO!!! You can’t take this planet away from me, this is MY planet, MY Home, Mine Mine Mine Mine MINE!!!* *Annihilus: Pathetic, one puny cretin faces the power of an infinite fortress, SIEZE HIM!* The insects nearest Larfleeze charge at him, Larfleeze blasts more lasers at them, but their hide is very tough, and the proceed to dog pile him, scratching and biting him in the process… 0:12 *Larfleeze: Back OFF!!!* …Until an orange light glows from within the dog pile and blasts them all off of him, revealing an army of orange hard light constructs of various monsters, aliens and beings that Larfleeze has slain in the past. They fly up towards the Annihilation Wave and the two armies connect in the middle, going to war. As Annihilus watches the orange constructs fighting off his army, he realises that they are clearing a path for Larfleeze to approach him, so Annihilus readies himself for battle. He equips the Cosmic Control Rod just as Larfleeze barges past a group of insect warriors standing between him and Annihilus. 0:26 Annihilus and Larfleeze fly straight at into each other and their battle begins. Larfleeze tries to scratch Annihilus with his claws, but hurts his hand on Annihilus’s Exo-Skeleton. Annihilus in turn punches Larfleeze multiple times, eventually slapping him away and blasting him with a cosmic energy beam. Larfleeze counters by creating a force field construct around himself, but Annihilus telekinetically pulls Larfleeze towards him and punches straight through it, shattering the force field like glass. 0:39 Annihilus grabs Larfleeze by the throat, choking him with his bare hand. *Annihilus: You don’t impress me for a minute. Any last words before I take your life?* *Larfleeze: This power is mine, it is my light, be it in bright of day or black of night, I lay claim to all that falls within my sight, to take what I want, THAT IS MY RIGHT!* 0:51 Annihilus was confused at what he was talking about, but before he could question it, an Orange light erupts from behind Larfleeze, and blasts him away, sending him crashing through one of the Annihilation Wave’s warships. Larfleeze is fully charged and starts stealing the souls and essence of Annihilus’s followers, absorbing them into the ring, and then unleashing them as more of his Orange Minion Constructs. 1:03 He then sicks them on Annihilus, who blasts them with cosmic energy, but it has little effect against them. So, using the Cosmic Control Rod, he amps up his physical strength and punches them into oblivion, but Larfleeze sneaks up behind him and, using his Power Ring, forms a giant mace construct, and smacks Annihilus with it. 1:17 *Annihilus: KILL HIM!!!* The Annihilation Wave flagships turn their guns on Larfleeze and opens fire, and there’s enough of them to block out the sky. *Larfleeze: YOU’RE ALL MINE!!!* Larfleeze’s Orange Light shines brighter than ever before, and blinds everyone, when they can look back again, they see that a giant construct of Larfleeze has appeared, and it begins destroying Annihilus’s ships, emitting energy waves that are wiping them out, absorbing their laser blasts, shooting its own energy beams, swatting them out of the sky with its hands, throwing them into other ships, and absorbing more and more of the individual warriors and turning them into his own puppets. All the while Annihilus is watching on in awe. 1:30 The energy waves being produced were also influencing and corrupting Annihilus’s mind, tempting him to give in to his already heightened greed. *Annihilus: That Light, such power, such magnificence, it’s… it’s so… precious, I… I want it, I Need it, I MUST HAVE IT!!!* Annihilus uses the Cosmic Control Rod to teleport right behind Larfleeze, and warps the debris of the destroyed ships and the turf of the planet below into a huge mass that constructs Larfleeze, then forms a construct of handcuffs and a muzzle that forms around Larfleeze’s mouth. While Larfleeze struggles to break free, Annihilus reaches for the Orange Lantern Power Battery. *Annihilus: It’s mine now, all mine.* 1:41 This enrages Larfleeze even more, and he struggles even harder until- *Larfleeze: NOOOOOOOO, YOU CAN’T HAVE MY SHINY!!!!!* -he snaps the muzzle right off his face, and telekinetically throws all the debris constricting him at Annihilus, then tears the handcuffs in half and flies after Annihilus. He is foaming at the mouth, and radiating with an intense orange aura. How dare this invader try and steal his stuff. *Larfleeze: Get Off My PLANET!!!* Larfleeze punches Annihilus out of the planet, sending him crashing through multiple ships along the way. Then he absorbs all of his Orange Lantern Constructs, as well as absorbing the souls and essence of a huge majority of the Annihilation Wave warriors and ships, and flies up after Annihilus. 1:55 Annihilus and Larfleeze’s battle continues in outer space, where a blockade for the Annihilation Wave can be seen surrounding the planet. Larfleeze charges up an enormous blast of Avarice energy from his ring and shoots it straight at Annihilus, and though it cleaves straight through a few warships far off in the distance behind him, Annihilus remains un-phased. In fact, the Cosmic Control Rod just absorbs the energy and powers up Annihilus to an immeasurable degree. 2:08 Annihilus counters with his own energy blast, one much bigger that the ones before, and the two greedy Xenophobes get into a ginormous beam struggle. The Cosmic Control Rod then manipulates the matter of his ships and minions to repair themselves thanks to the energy boost, leaving Larfleeze floored. *Larfleeze: What is that? That metal thing on his chest? Is it the source of his power? It’s so shiny, I must have it!* 2:21 Now Larfleeze wants the Cosmic Control Rod, so he summons an equally large army of minion constructs. *Larfleeze: Bring it to me!!!* The constructs and the insects charge at each other, with numerous constructs making a beeline for Annihilus. They dogpile him, making grabby hands towards the Cosmic Control Rod. *Annihilus: NO! This is my power! GET YOUR FILTHY CLAWS OFF IT!!!* 2:33 Annihilus summons a swarm of his warriors to aid him in prying the constructs off of him, only for one of them to drag Larfleeze into the dogpile. Annihilus sees this and reaches for the Power Ring, which causes his warriors to reach for it as well, while Larfleeze tries desperately to pry them all off, while he simultaneously makes grabby hands towards the Cosmic Control Rod, and before you know it, their all fighting for the “precious shiny things” *Annihilus & Larfleeze: It’s mine. No it’s mine. Get your hands off. Give it here. Get away. I want it. It’s mine. No mine. Mine. Mine. Mine, mine mine mine mine mine mine mine…* During their scuffle, cosmic beams and orange blasts are being fired everywhere from within the dogpile, cleaving the other fighters in half, blowing up the warships, and reality warping waves are pulsing from their power hogging battle. 2:46 In the centre of it all, Annihilus and Larfleeze both have one hand firmly gripping onto the Cosmic Control Rod, the other tugging on the Orange Lantern Ring, while several hands are coming from all around them, reaching for both objects. The Orange Lantern Battery appears right between the two of them. *Larfleeze: I am the keeper of the Orange Lantern, and whoever tries to take it from me will Die!* *Annihilus: I have waged many wars to conquer this universe, I won’t stand by and let one simple life form come and take it from me!* Their combined overpowering Greed, plus the greed of the followers, charges the battery and the ring multiple times over, and warps reality around them. The Cosmic Control Rod is draining the energy being emitted around them and gaining more power just as fast. The constructs and the Insect warriors are scratching and biting at each other. Until… 2:59 A ginormous nuclear explosion of Cosmic Energy and Orange Light erupts from the centre, blasting everyone and everything away from the point of detonation. Several million Insect Warriors, Spacecraft and Orange Lantern Constructs are destroyed in the process, while Annihilus and Larfleeze stagger away. *Larfleeze: Now do you understand, you can’t take anything from me, because I won’t let you!* *Annihilus: Pity, it appears you have forgotten one crucial thing, I already have.* Larfleeze is confused for a moment, until he remembers something. The Harvester of Sorrows is still aimed at the planet, and Annihilus sent some minions down after it while they were beam struggling. It fires and starts tearing the planet apart at a rapid pace. 3:12 Annihilus grabs Larfleeze and drags him towards the blast, intending to throw him into it. Larfleeze struggles with all his might. *Larfleeze: What’s mine is mine, and mine and mine and mine and mine, not-* …what happened? You decide

Larfleeze is apart of the orange lantern corp which represents greed. He is so greedy however that he refuses to add any members to his corp as to keep all the rings for himself, making him the only orange lantern in existence. He hoards tons of garbage that he considers valuable and has the ability to create constructs of all the people he’s killed, making him a one man army.

Nah, the connections are deeper than just that. Both are alien comic book antagonists who are characterized and driven by their insatiable sense of greed and desire to overtake everything for themselves. Both primarily reside in cosmological areas off-limits to most other characters (the Vega Star System and the Negative Zone), which they themselves only leave for the purpose of invading and conquering other areas. Both possess many similar abilities courtesy of wielding an incredibly powerful and versatile weapon (An Orange Lantern Ring and the Cosmic Control Rod) such as creating constructs (lesser known for Annihilus, but he can), telepathy, flight, draining and stealing other's energy/life force, teleportation, and technical immortality (Larfleeze is a living Power Battery who can't die from normal physical methods, and Annihilus is always reborn through various means after death). Both are formidable combatants in their own right, but often leave their fighting to their armies that follow their every command (Orange Lantern Energy Avatars for Larfleeze and the Annihilation Wave for Annihilus). Despite their immense power and general ability to think logically and strategically when they try, they both suffer from immense paranoia which often becomes their undoing in most conflicts. Both also constantly find themselves at odds with an intergalactic military/law enforcement organization (The Green Lantern corps and Nova Corps, respectively), and are classified as universal threats. They also have their own comic Christmas specials.
