OMG someone finally went in the right direction for minecarts, we always needed turns that could make smooth turns, one thing this needs is roll axis rotation but hea thats what we needed, nornal minecart turns just pull 13 G’s lol that’d kill you irl Edit: just realised this mod lets u rotate the rail in roll axis too, just variable angles rather than 90 degree only would be awesome

a spline is a way to approximate a curve by connecting simpler functions between points. there's some math about the derivatives of each spline at each point to make it not do funky things. a typical choice is a cubic spline, where you use cubic polynomials between each point, which probably explains why it does the weird behavior when you make the track go straight up and why when you try and make a circle it looks... not quite like one!
