Hang a spore Blossom on a leaf block, then cover it with leaves in front. Do it on some leaves and you have the effect of falling leaves (especially if you want to demonstrate autumn) :)

@@ValuableCheese In the MINECON Earth 2018 Biome chooser fan vote, even though the taiga won, the desert was one of the other two biomes up for vote, the features that the developers would add were Palm trees, meerkats and oases. They said the the desert would be updated in a future update. Since the mountains are being updated in 1.17 maybe the desert would be updated in 1.18? Just a guess. It would be nice though.

I like how Mojang is trying to appeal to multiple play types here. They are pleasing explorers with the new caves and mountains, miners and grinders (like TFC) with the new ores, farm-builders with the new plants and mobs, redstoners with skull sensors, PVE players with the Deep Dark and the Warden, and parkour players with the dripleafs. This snapshot in particular shows how they are pleasing the terraformers (like GoodTimesWithScar) with these new plants, providing the best terraforming blocks since bamboo. They are even working on a new combat update for PvP players, although that is unrelated to the Caves and Cliffs update. They are probably appealing to other categories of players I’m forgetting, too.

Yuhuuu we have something that blends with granite, back to making dirt huts! Well, huge mansions even. But with dirt. :D My fav is the glow lichen actually. Think the pattern they can give to huge walls, invisible from distance but still eliminating the shadow cones from the ceilings. No more beautiful buildings looking dark just because they're too tall.

Moss not breaking cacti is to make cactus pit to destroy items. So it's 3x3 like lava and has not to be 5x5 (walls included). And it's just the first thing came to my mind. I hope they'll leave this feat.

The dripleaves don't replace bedrock anymore and are only able to be obtained by shears. They are also able to be controlled by redstone.
