In minecraft 1.21 snapshot 24w11a the heavy core block was introduced as a drop from the vault of the trial chambers. The heavy core is used together with the new breeze rods to craft the new mace weapon. However, it seems like there may be a different way to obtain this new item in the future, with mojang studios developer Ulraf mentioning that obtaining the heavy core will be quite an interesting rare challenge!

mojang were literlly teases a new boss in a youtube shorts with a villiger so it makes sense they will add it sooner or later

If we get a new boss and combat changes this update it will be perfect. Like a genuine S-Tier update up there with the Nether Update and Caves & Cliffs!

I don’t know if you will see this, but remember when someone said on the Minecraft 1.21 first snapshot live stream you did when someone said, "What if the breeze? Just drops a thing called breeze rods like the blaze drops blaze rods."if so, that was me who said that, and that means I guessed that the breeze rod would be a thing

The people who have noticed the Heavy Core fits right in with the Reinforced Deepslate texture is very suspicious. But I don't see how a player in survival could ever get enough Cores to use on the Ancient City portal should Mojang ever implement such a feature.

@@skeleton819 I know, right? They've stated MULTIPLE times that they're not gonna add a new dimension until they've at least updated the others. Besides, it doesn't have to be opened for it to be important; it's still the implied source of the sculk either way.

But still, it’s suspicious that the strongest block is an object in the structure called “portal”, and the new iron cube, called “core” (strange name, right?), is also incredibly strong and ideal for the holes of those same blocks. @@MattTOB618

I have to say that the core is not even the only thing in the game that fits into the reinforced deepslate hole: player and most mob heads, flower pots and conduits actually fit into the hole pretty nicely.

if they are going to add a boss, i hope its a golem. We only have two official golems in mc and all potential golems have been lame “cute tiny wholesome” golems. Maybe its hands will be heavy cores, if there will be a boss

2½ if you count the Wither, since it's created in the same fashion but is hostile instead of neutral/friendly.

@@MattTOB618 i suppose it is a golem, but i was thinking only mobs with the name “golem” in the name. I do think there are more mobs that are golems in lore though

Maybe the boss could be made of copper and be reminiscent of the copper golem, and when you kill the boss you use his drop(s) to make copper golems as both a trophy and a tool. That would be sick.

If there's a boss its definitely gonna be related to the breeze Why would they implement a breeze rod for then? Mojang has never implemented rods for weapons nor used the blaze rod for netherite weapons

Im confident by the way theyre implementing this, that there will be a future weapon made out of blaze rods
