In case of slime balls, I recommend using double observer to continuously trigger the crafter. It will craft slime block once there are nine slime balls. This design is useful for iron blocks and gold block which has intermediate recipes(nuggets, pressure plates) so use wisely.

Why the other crafter in the left??

It has a signal value depending on how many spaces are filled or blocked out. It goes into the side of the first comparator and subtracts that level of signal from the other comparator, meaning it will activate the crafter that makes slime blocks as soon as it reaches its highest signal value
