For anyone interested in building this at this point in time, definitely do it. Works incredibly well. If you have completely followed the tutorial to the T and the moss starts growing then stops, Check the hopper loop. Sometimes if the stone area being turn into moss isn't covered on the sides properly moss can drop into that and mess the loop up but its an easy fix by stopping the farm then just putting one item in. Really great farm

I was able to move the on/off lever... I noticed in the comments that some have been asking about how to do it...maybe this can help those of us that struggle with redstone. This worked for me. Hopefully this works for you. - Get on top of the farm and stand on top of all those pistons with the redstone circuitry on them, then face towards the "back" of the farm. - Turn the system off, if it is not already. Notice the redstone circuitry that you are standing on is powered with the lever down. That same power is keeping the clocks at the back of the farm off also...That is important to remember. If you followed Silent's directions, then the farm is off when that redstone circuitry is energized. - Orient again, facing towards the back of the farm, look at the block with the on/off lever. - Look down and to the one side of that block with the lever, there should be a repeater one level down on a glass block. That repeater should be pointing at the block with the lever. Did you find that repeater? This is where we are going to build from... 1a) Remove that repeater. 1b) Place a redstone where the repeater used to be. 2) Place a glass block on the other side of the redstone that you just placed. This new glass block should be at the same level as all those energized pistons that you are/were standing on. So, still facing towards the back of the farm, there should be the corner piston...a step down to a glass block that has the new redstone...then a step up to a new glass block. Good? 3) Place 2 solid blocks in a row on the other side of that new glass block, so they both go straight out horizontally from that new glass block. So, still facing towards the back of the farm, you should now have three blocks in a straight line going horizontally away from the farm. One glass then two solid. 4a) Go out to the new last (3rd) solid block you just placed and turn around towards the front of the farm. 4b) Place a redstone on that new last (3rd) solid block. 5) Place a repeater on the new middle (2nd) solid block. Have the repeater pointing towards the farm. Do not change the tics. 6) Place a redstone on the new (1st) glass block. 7a) Go below the 3 new blocks. 7b) Place a temp block directly under the new last (3rd) solid block. 8) Place a solid block directly under the temp block. 9) Remove the temp block from step 7b. 10) Place a redstone torch on TOP of that new lower solid block from step 8. - Notice that the redstone torch is energized and that it powers the redstone circuitry up to the now energized repeater from step 5. (Dont forget that the lever is also/still powering everything else.) 11a) Put in the lever and redstone circuitry from wherever you want your new switch/lever to be located, all the way to the block that has the energized redstone torch on top of it from step 10. - Keep in mind if you want the farm to turn off, then that redstone torch from step 10 must be energized. Then vice versa, if you want the farm to turn on then that redstone torch from step 10 must become deenergized. 11b) Test your new lever and circuitry. Note the position of the new lever and the state (energized or not) of the redstone torch from step 10. Position the new lever to the other position and see if the state of the redstone torch from step 10 changes. If it changes accordingly then you are ready to proceed...if not then you have more figuring out to do to make that happen. :) 12) Position your new lever so that the redstone torch from step 10 is energized. - We should technically have two power sources energizing the redstone circuitry at this time. The original lever and the new lever (via the new redstone torch from step 10.) Cool? 13) Position the original lever to the up position. The farm should stay off because of your new lever. All the pistons on the upper level should still be energized/extended. The clocks in the back of the farm should not have done anything. Yes, the mine carts might/should have deployed (the power levels changed just a little) but the carts should get locked down real quick. All Good? 14) Now turn the farm on and off a couple of times using your new lever to make sure everything is good...(the actual moss spawning or not is something else to fix. For my system, I place that one item in the hopper clock in the hopper closest to the comparator. THEN turn the farm on. So far, the moss has spawned every time I do this. If that one item starts in a different hopper then the moss will not spawn for me.) 15) If all of that is good from step 14, then you can remove the original lever AND the block that the lever was on. I personally placed the new lever at the front of the farm. Ran the redstone circuitry under and to the back of the farm. Then used a redstone torch tower up to the energized redstone torch from step 10. I just checked the farm and it works awesome. Hopefully my directions make sense. Have fun. Silent! You are the master at this!! Thank you for all that you do. I have been watching your tutorials for a very long time and have been building all your stuff that you share with everyone. For those planning to build this, here are my recomendations. 1) As it depends on you, make the whole farm facing East-West instead of North-South. I didn't do that and spent like half hour dealing with the freaking rail lines. 2)The hopper clock is really important and will broke the whole farm just by having two hoppers with one item each. Cover it well. I made a second row of glass under the one shown in the video, for a moss-block fell in the hopper clock and broke everything.

For anyone whose moss farm isn't working, check the hopper clock to see if there are more than 1 blocks, if there are 2 or more blocks remove them, and then it will start work again (if you took the the blocks out while the machine was on, you might have to turn off and turn on the machine). Another tip is to re-check the repeaters, misplaced or mistimed repeaters can make the farm stop working completely.

I ran into the same cobblestone issue that others have mentioned and I appear to have fixed it in my world. I did two things: 1. Moved the farm such that the stone generators on both sides are each in their own chunk (i.e. not on chunk borders). Essentially the farm is split down the middle left/right by the chunk border; my moss block is 1 block away from the chunk border. 2. Filled every space available in the lava troughs with a lava bucket (7 per generator row, 28 total lava buckets). I suspect #1 solved the issue and #2 was irrelevant, but I'm not messing with it now! So far I've generated about 10 stacks of "profit" bonemeal and I have zero cobblestone showing up. I'm on a PS5 on December 28th 2023. Good luck to anyone looking to solve this same issue!

I built it right next to my rooted dirt/oak log farm under the assumption it would chew through bone meal, and I’m absolutely delighted how efficient the output is. Word if warning, be sure to follow Silent’s advice on the positioning because otherwise, in this version at least, the rails WILL DO EVERYTHING UNDER THE SUN TO DEFY YOUR PLACEMENTS. (Basically go inti settigns and turn on show coordinates, which won’t disable achievements. If your X coordinates, the first number, go up or down significantly by just moving forwards or backwards, that’s the direction to build in.) Update: mom, come pick me up, I’m scared.

To anyone having trouble with cobblestone spawning: the right side of the farm (to the right of the lever) has the lava block inside of the chunk but the waterlogged pistons are outside of it, which is what causes the cobblestone to spawn. To fix this simply extend the stone generator on the right by one block so both the lava and the water are in the other chunk. This might reduce the rates a bit but it's better than a dead farm.

In essence, just reset the clock and it should work like a charm :)

Excellent design 👌 works perfectly, bonemeal return is amazing. Just one note...you'll probably need 20 composters, the hoppers just can't quite keep up using only 10. You can still run it for a reasonable amount of time at get 10+ stacks of bonemeal, but it will eventually backup
@bramstaal41632 жыл бұрын
how do you do that then i have tried it but my farm broke then
@YourOfAll2 жыл бұрын
It's hard to explain without pictures...but I'll give it a shot! First - the double hoppers under the hopper minecart need to both opposite directions (front & back) Next - put a hopper pointing straight down directly below each hopper and feed it into a composter Then - you will need a hopper point straight down in on the face of the hoppers pointing opposite directions. Put a composter under of those. Finally - connect all the composter outputs with more hoppers, should be easy enough to tweak Silent's design Unfortunately you will need an additional +/-25 hoppers and 10 composters to get this to work, but it should stop the backup

If your farm consumes all of your bonemeal from your input chest but isnt producing any moss, you need to cover the hopper clock at the back of the build with slabs. Moss will occasionally fall out of the build and get into the hopper system. Only one item should be inside of it, but while running it a moss block fell into one of the hoppers and broke the farm.

Needs to be glass above to stop it happening also needs to be full block if directly above the hopper as items will still be pulled through slabs.

Idk if anyone is still interested, but I saw a very long detailed comment on how to move the switch to the front, and I did it much sumpler. without changing ANYTHING except removing the switch off the solid block at the back. 1. remove lever off back so machine runs. 2. center redstone block above redstone line so machine stops again. 3. place sticky piston above redstone block 4. run blocks wherever you want above the farm to where you want the lever. 5. build torch tower (solid block, redstone torch, solid block vertically) up until it meets with the block path you made. 6. Run redstone from top torch/ powered block to the sticky piston, might need repeater. Test it and enjoy.

When the line in the back is powered the machine is off. so the piston needs to hold the redstone block there to keep the machinee off and pul it away to activate it. I placed the redstone block right above the redstone line in the back and the sticky piston 2 blocks above, facing down into the block so that when the piston is powered it pushes the redstone block to power the line, and when its not powered, pulls it away.

If you are having issues with the moss not spreading to the stone, try adding a repeater or two to your main level that switches the farm off and on. Because I chose to re-route my power, I had to add a few repeaters to make sure it got to the other redstone, by adding those repeaters it messed up the timing which I did not think would matter that much, adding more repeated got the timing back to normal so try this before anything else!

Just built 11/6/23 in survival on 1.20.41 and it works. If youre seeing green particles around the moss block but your moss isnt generating to the stone up top, there are three timing adjustments you can mess with: the top repeater at the on/off switch which silent set to 4, the middle repeater on the slab above the hopper clock silent set to 3, and the bottom repeater that goes to the dispenser (the first one you place) which silent set to 2. There are several configurations that work, the one silent did is probably the most efficient but it wasnt working for me. After messing around with all three of them for about 30 minutes i eventually got the 4 3 2 to work somehow, but just switching those up a bit should help.
@idlesugar10 ай бұрын
Also messing with the timing may cause some cobblestone to generate. I recommend using wings to fly in the space where the rails are or do the trapdoor water trick to get in the 1 block tall space to mine the cobblestone. However you do it make sure the farm is off and hopper minecarts are in stowed position so you don't get cobblestone in your hoppers

My best advice is to double check the functioning of the first layer of slabs prior to continuing on to ensure that the moss is spreading and the dispenser works. Built your AFK Azalea farm a few days ago. My single stone generator moss bone meal farm just couldn't cut it any more. So I built this one. I can now run the Azalea farm with no wories of running out of bone meal. Design still works great on 1.19.50. Its cranking out just over 4000 bone meal an hour. Thanks for the great design and vid. Now time to tackle the Dark Oak farm.

Pro tip - it takes 5 or 6 stacks of bonemeal to get the farm started and turn a bonemeal profit. If you don't have enough bonemeal to start the process, an easy way to obtain some is to cut down a ton of kelp and compost it. Only takes a few minutes to get several stacks of bonemeal so you can get this farm started.

I have wasted almost a full double chest of bonemeal trying to get a single moss block to convert but it will not work

Just built this & it's working beautifully!! I love your tutorials, you have the best quality Bedrock farms. Thanks for sharing your hard work, also I appreciate how you gave the dimensions at the beginning of the video.

COMMON BUG FIX: okay, so more of a user error. I hadn't used it for a few days. Went back to turn it on and I had no moss generating. Worked fine before. Generated 3 full double chests of bonemeal before. Tried alot of different things until i found out that some point I had accidently clicked on the repeater located right next to the on/off switch. It was now on 1 click instead of the four as instructed. Immediatly started to generate moss again. If it was working for you at one point and now it isn't, check there first. It's right next to the lever that you click so If your anything like me, you accidently clicked on it once.

Thank you so much honestly I was so confused. I did the same thing by accident and clicked the repeater without noticing lmao

For everyone having trouble with the moss not getting bonemealed, take the time out of the hoppers and put it back in a different hopper. Fixed it for me.

turning it off and back on works 👍

Normally you can just turn the farm off and on, but if a dozen attempts at that doesn't work, reset the hopper clock manually.

I don't know what is the problem in the farm. I can see the bonemeal particles but it's not spreading on top Edit: I managed to fix it by making the repeater which gets powered by the comparator from the hopper clock to 3 ticks. It was originally on 2 ticks

Everything works perfectly, apart from the emptying system with the hoper minecarts. The fence gates get pushed down but it doesn't stop the minecrarts

Oh Silent! I highly recommend using glass for any blocks that don't need to be solid. It makes it a bit easier for those watching to follow, plus it looks SUPER cool. Just a suggestion. Love the content!

One thing I've noticed is the storage at some points not fast enough and when running machine awhile it leaves items at the top and they even despawn
