Once you find a fortress or bastion, you want to again swap to the next closest region.

Bastions are easily the most effective way to get pearls. I'd recommend learning all the gold block locations of each bastion. T_Wag has some bastion guides for java that you can use: kzbin.info/aero/PLS6QbW9YR38SQFYq6NIuGnHxoL73dFp8Y Although it's for java, the gold block locations are the same, but not all the routes he used in the videos will work very well. I'll probably be making some bedrock bastion route showcase videos, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Bastions are probably the best way to get pearls but I also recently came up with a strategy that I haven't seen been used yet which is to enter the nether, find the fortress, and if you find a bastion on the way then get pearls there. But if you find the fortress and go back to the overworld without any pearls you can also use a cleric and a Fletcher to trade for pearls. On Java there's a two out of three chance of getting a pearl trade at expert level and I'm pretty sure bedrock is guaranteed pearls at expert level for the cleric but I could be wrong. But you should definitely go to bastions for pearls if you find one on the way so definitely learn the routing for each.

Yes from my personal experience I find trading with villagers to get pearls are sometimes in some runs more efficient but the best way to get fast trades in bed rock is to be breaking a gold block while next to the trading piglin and it will speed up there trade time

If you want a fast run, normal villager trading is not a good route. Killing endermen, using bastions, or trading at igloos are all much faster methods.

The timer is Livesplit and there is a download link in the description. You do have to play the game in windowed mode for it to display overtop of Minecraft though. Good luck with killing the dragon!

Something to add onto the link kiwi gave you is bastions and fortresses together commonly known as fastions have a very low rate on bedrock so almost all runners just do classic or warped strats unless they find a bastion first or have one they run into (classic strats being mining gold and giving it to piglins)

I didn't know the fortress was there, but I knew that was the best direction to go to find a fortress. I use nether regions to decide where to go in the nether to find structures. The lava slows and pushes down the dragon when it flies away This allows you to have enough time to explode all three beds and kill three dragon before it gets away.

I think you can only change versions on pc and android. I use MCMrARM's version launcher to change versions on pc. You can download it here: github.com/MCMrARM/mc-w10-version-launcher/releases/tag/0.2.1 I'm not sure what you do for android because I don't use it.
