I think all those "chimneys" in the lord’s rooms aren’t chimneys but ovens covered with ceramic tiles. I don´t really know the English name for it but in German it is called "Kachelofen". Furthermore, the small room with the shovel in it next to the lords bedroom is an access to the small metal door to fire it.

And in Swedish the word is kakelugn

in danish it’s called a kakkelovn and i believe the most accurate translation would just be stove or heating stove

Some info’s and corrections about the build: The path that leads off the plot leads to a chapel irl. I originally planned to build that to but ran out of time to finish it in time and never started it. The small room near the lord’s bedroom is an access to the big oven in the bedroom and is used to fire it. You referred to those kinds of ovens also as chimneys in a later part of the video, but they are a special kind of oven called “Kachelofen” in German. The tile walls would store the heat for longer and disperse it long after the fire goes out. Since the castle is in the Alps those kinds of ovens were very popular in this fairly cold region of Europe. In later centuries they were also build in farmhouses and are still in use today. The big room above the kids’ room is supposed to be a meeting place for the guards. In the real castle it was located close to the top of the donjon. My green room is way to fancy for the castle like most of my interiors. The real one would be way more rustic. There is actually a dungeon in the donjon, but you guys missed it. There is a small trapdoor on the floor which would be the access for it. The dungeon is just a dark room where they would throw in prisoners. The real castle would also have this, but it would be located somewhere else if I remember right. I must admit, I am not proud of the layout of the castle interior. I had a hard time coming up with something that kinda worked. That’s all, I am glad you guys liked the build. Thanks for showcasing it, for all the nice words and all the amazing content you guys put out. You guys are the reason why I build whit this amazing mod.

7:43 You can see flies and green/brown textured blocks running down the gap. That would probably be the ejected contents from the latrines within the keep. Another amazing little detail.

The chimneys central position, touching most rooms, was a very normal feature back then. In some old houses here in Denmark you can still find remnants from such installations. It works like a central heating system. The fire and hot smoke will heat up the entire chimney wich in turn will work like a "radiator" in every room where the chimney is present. Of course the bigger the place, the more fireplaces (and chimneys), would be needed to keep the place tempered and probably even more important, dry and fungus free.

this is actually really great info, I didn't realize this and have been putting fireplaces in every room XD but totally makes sense, thanks for sharing!

Also, in the Latin Rite of the Mass, the priest would be up at the altar and everyone else sitting in the pews. At communion, everyone would come and kneel at that railing to receive the Eucharist. This remained in the Catholic Church until the Second Vatican Council in the mid-twentieth century.

This build is fantastic! Well done to the builder, I'm in awe of artists who can do this! The texturing alone has me stunned and it's so realistic.

U know quite a bit of stuff but z should look up some stuff. The windows on ground level have iron shutters if u hadnt seen. That protects them quite well and that was a really common thing. And in the small "closet" in the wall, where u didnt know the purpose: if u look in the lords bedroom, there is a giant tiled furnace/heating thingy. A similar thing is in the green room. In that closet, there is an iron trapdoor to acces the furnace and add wood... btw, I Just LOVE this recreations and real life castles. Pls do more of them.

I just found out about your channel and this modpack from your tavern/inn video. Absolutely breathtaking. I can't imagine the amount of time that goes into builds like this. I can barely make a decent house in vanilla, I can't even imagine the time and dedication required to be able to create this. How would you even go about planning the layout of buildings like this? How do you make it that compact without feeling claustrophobic?
@Dukonred15 жыл бұрын
as one progresses in the conquest community, they will learn techniques and styles. These factors will lead to the eventual result you see on this video and among most other Conquest Reforged builds. The vast selection of possibilities available brings so much creativity, allowing for immersive builds as this.
