More like a great stone castle full of walls and tapestries and big corridors and little ones and hidden away staircases around bends that are sometimes seeming to be in different spots. If you read the rest of the books then there’s more to support that image than the one in the movies, since they never mention looking up and seeing clearly where they’re headed or seeing someone else on a different stair in all of the books. You’d think jk Rowling would’ve at least mentioned it once if she even described ceilings lol
