You should definitely play "Amnesia", which is a modpack based around this exact theme. In Amnesia, all (or nearly all) recipes and loot tables change every 5 minutes. There are a few devices just for the pack that you can craft, and with them you can lock recipes, so that they won't change any more. The goal is to finally lock enough recipes that the game begins to make sense.
