Minecraft, but there are MORE TRAINS!

The Minecraft Immersive Railroading mod is the gift that keeps on giving! In the time following my first couple videos on these mods, I've talked with the developers of the mods, and in fooling around with my Lets Play (which IS still a thing, I just have a lot of work to do before I wanna get the second episode going), I've come to realize the Immersive Railroading and Immersive Engineering mods go much, MUCH deeper than just trains. With a few extra packs of American locomotives, and a whole railroading map to explore, in this video I see what else this mod has to offer! Thank you all so much for the support on the previous Immersive Railroading videos, and I hope you enjoy this one as well!

as a person who spends a lot of time following IRs development and has learned basically all the ins and outs of IRs working, TrackAPI(the system for path following that IR tracks use) is really forgiving, tracks can overlap, not quite line up, and generally have some funkyness going on and the trains will still work, if you want to see a good example of how to get tracks to do things you want and look good while doing it, look at Doffen did it on the Jernbane map, also I would recommend using the latest test build as the most recent release version had a lot of performance issues and the current test build runs a lot smoother

3:31 From the Track Blueprint UI, "Position" is your friend; through it, you control how precise you want the placement to be. "Fixed" - The Track Blueprint's "starting block" (the part that has collision) will firmly stick to the block grid. "Pixel" - The Track Blueprint will use a smaller grid that matches the size of the block texture's pixels instead of the block grid. This has a "Pixel Locked" variant that only really matters for the cardinal directions. "Smooth" - The Track Blueprint will use a grid so small that it's practically smooth. Also has a "Smooth Locked" variant. 4:12 Yeah, that button isn't the best way to navigate the styles list, and it can get worse depending on what resource packs you install

Just a tip csx, the tracks may not line up cause of the Minecraft limitations. They may not appear lined up but they are. You also can over lap straight tracks and that won’t have any negative effect.

Hey, friendly IR representative here. Thomas and other engines with faces are not supported in the mod. We want to avoid the type of legal action that got Pixelmon shut down and thus we have an unspoken rule of which copyrighted assets to avoid. Thanks!

@@Matthew-oi6kz Technically yes, but the pretense of someone making an E2, and everyone being like those seagulls from Finding Nemo saying “Thomas?!?!” instead of “Mine!” ,has dissuaded people from doing so. IR doesn’t support Trains with Faces, but we never have said anything about creating models like the Railway Series forms for the engines without the face.

I almost screamed when I saw the decapod and J class. I also love the Strasburg Railroad and I just went down the other week to see 611 (and I did a whistle blow on her!) She's still at Strasburg and will be there until October so if you can definitely go down and visit her. She's a beast of an engine!

When I saw your playthrough, I decided to give the mod a shot. Pretty fun, but not very practical due to how long it takes to start the trains... by the way, do you know how to start the diesel trains? All info I've seen just says to open the throttle, but after leaving it with the throttle maxed for a few hours, it never moved or used any fuel.

12:55 The Polar Express was based off the 1225. It is located at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan, and it was built by Lima Locomotive works in 1941. The SRI was previously a railroading club, but were forced to create the SRI if they wanted to keep it after restoring the engine. It is one of the few remaining Berkshires in the USA and one of the only ones still in running condition. :3 I went to go see it for summer vacation. The SRI is hopefully going to be doing excursions this year.

The Green 4-6-2 Pacific-type, appears to be a Southern Railway (U.S.; predecessor to the "modern" Norfolk Southern), Ps-4, such as No.1401, preserved at the Smithsonian (fun-fact: it actually pulled F.D.R.'s funeral train, once it came off the Warm Springs, Georgia branch). The 2-8-0 Consolidation-type appears to be of a Lake Superior and Ishpeming design (either 29, or 32-34); 29 is at the Grand Canyon Ry. in Arizona, and the others are scattered from Illinois to Ohio and Maryland. The 2-10-2 Santa Fe-type appeared to be a B&O "Big Six". Legendary in their own right for their thundering speed, especially in the late-Steam Era (1950s in the States). The Berkshire would be a Pere Marquette N-1, of which PM No. 1225, was on display at Michigan State University in East Lansing, by Spartan Stadium. Author, Chris Van Allsburg, played on the loco as a kid, as he attended every MSU home game. Furthermore, it was the locomotive that inspired him to write "The Polar Express," and was used for the film (though the whistle sound was provided by Hollywood's favorite locomotive, Sierra R.R. No.3- a 4-6-0 Ten-Wheeler, who's starred in films with everyone from Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, to Michael Landon, Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox!). It's the star locomotive of the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan The "ALCO 0-8-0" is based on the Indiana Harbor Belt U-4 class 3-cylinder heavy switcher- most iconic for its Rivarossi HO and O-scale Models. The C-16, is otherwise known as the Lil' Joe, and has had models made by both Varney and Rivarossi, among others. This was a very popular Varney kit, that gave many their start in HO-scale Model Railroading, 60 to 70+ years ago. It appears the creator of these Railroading features, used a combination of Existing Steam Locomotives, and HO-scale models, to build the bulk of the American offerings. On a Personal Note, next video you make of this, please look about the Streamlined Steam-Power? I believe I saw a Milwaukee Road A Class 4-4-2 Atlantic, which were fine racers of the 1930s. A full-set of the Hiawatha would be fantastic! Also... Maglev is the Devil's Work.

Idk if you're still lookin for a tiny tank engine for the layout, but the classic Hornby Smokey Joe is always an option of you're doing HO/OO scale. That's currently my first loco I got (just got into the hobby) and I just finished the base coats on a custom paint job I'm doing.

The track types come with your installed resource packs and if you look at "Position" in the track GUI if set it to smooth you can perfectly line the two tracks and make a crosssover.

20:44 Actually, this old company known as Rivarossi once made this locomotive. Irl, these engines had three cylinders and tender boosters, and served the Indiana Harbor Belt, but only three were built - 100, 101, and 102. They were known as U-4A "Super Switchers".

11:16 YES. The N&W J-Class. Right now 611 (the only one still running) is wintering in the Carolinas, but she'll be up for another season starting in around April. The folks at the Virginia Transport Museum in Roanoke are super excited for it. Closer to the season opening they'll probably be MORE than happy to get you set up.

19:00 switerlands CFF rail network does not have any maglev type train yet, but the interior looks a lot like the Geneva to Zurich ICN class Maglev is in proposal for the moment and would be underground to dave some city space, you know also the mountains are a "small" problem with super fast trains
