You exploring caves like that is quite interesting! It's like a speleologist going deep in!! There is this one mod I mentioned in the past, Gigeresque, that also can be found in caves (like ancient city). If you ever do a part two, It would be a great twist. Because it's not a roaming creature, technically speaking. ;)

I had to look it up, but just wanted to share you were right about bane of arthropods, it is for spiders and that, what it does is give a whopping Slowness IV (4) to those mobs.

Correction: It only deals more damage in vanilla to spiders, cave spiders, silverfish and ender mites, and that’s it. Pretty useless, unless your trapped in a giant spider dungeon with black widows and Brazilian wandering spiders
