Minecraft Championship 8 will go down as the 1 time ‪@dream‬ and ‪@Technoblade‬ joined forces. In this MCC hosted by ‪@Noxcrew‬ , the two showed off their Minecraft parkour and PVP skills to win the title. In my reaction video, I look at Dream's highlights and the best of Technoblade. Admittedly, there were also some Technoblade fails. This is my latest vid leading up to the $100,000 Dream vs Technoblade Duel I still plan to react to. Some context at the start: Wilbur, Tommy, Philza, and Techno are in this friend group called Sleepy Bois Inc! It's similar to Dream Team (dream, sapnap, George) with them all being really close! (To see the sleepy bois in action, I recommend "Terraforming the Moon in Minecraft" by Wilbur Soot. It'd also give you a basic idea of Wilbur if you aren't already familiar. Great vid as always!)

28:36 yeah Techno’s main problem is with communication... He is considered an S tier player in this event (holds recorder for highest individual points, also holds records for most records in MCC if the standings did not change too much), right next to Petezahhutt (who never placed lower than 5th individual) , Quig (who has placed 1st the most times out of anyone), Dream and Fruitberries, and whilst he can come 2nd or 3rd individual, his team usually places around 5th place. Whereas hBomb, an S tier player in teamwork, usually gets to dodgebolt, and is usually on high placing teams. (Pete also usually gets to dodgebolt) So as a Technoblade fan, MCC is not the same as MCM, where you only have to talk to one teammate. Technoblade sometimes forgets that he has better stuff/ stuff his teammates need/ could have called out for his teammates and remain quiet for minutes at a time, which is bad because the team based games like Build Mart and Bingo are played later, which are worth more coins (the coin multiplier increases as the games go on) It sadly is a skill he lacks possibly due to his social anxiety, introverted nature and also possibly ADHD. However, his teammates usually look up to him as the leader as he has more points than them, yet once they start playing, Techno usually shares the spot with the ‘second best’ on their team.

I... just don't agree. Techno is very eloquent. He seems to be shy around people he doesn't know much, but in the MCC with tapple he was going full team management in skyblockle. People should also ask out for stuff "does anyone have iron gear?" or "I need [this]". Putting this on techno is not really fair, he's not the best, but still fine. He also tends to perform better on weaker teams, since he gets pushed to the limit, and oh boy, he delivers. In this case Dream es CLEARLY the stronger leader, and techno is not into butting heads for no reason (maybe farming potatoes, but that's a fair reason!). He didn't seem, to me, as if he was sweating it to much this time, that's the main thing.

@@crystaldragon2361 I don't think he went as far as improving his social skills in that time, or rather, I don't think that's the cause. He may be more comfortable, sure, but he was more vocal playing with Ph1l earlier. He talks more with people he knows, but he also plays out of his mind when he needs to be the leader. Dream is a lot more dominant in teams, so it makes sense that techno kinda chilled out for the most part, even if he was trying his best to play good, I think he wasn't backed off enough to become an active leader. I repeat, he is really good with words, he is shy at most, but if he needs to, he can pull the team together. Urgency, that's all.

I'm looking at the more recent ones like MCC 9 to MCC 11, where he rarely call out HITW colours to help the team, or ghost for them, or it took him forever to realise there's an iron sword in his inventory. You should look at his worst games in MCC: Bingo, Buildmart- anything team based he just doesn't do as well in, and compare that to hBomb's play style or Pete's who give much more advice and help. When Technoblade plays, it's much more solo than others, with his 'feed arrows to strongest player' strategy (which is good, and can work, but it's not that nice) or him underestimating teams and how Hbomb always shoots up by 5 places in every team mode played late and just how little he practices with his teammates. (Compare that to most of the other streamers who have practice streams, like about 10 for each event. Technoblade appeared only for one in MCC11) He's honestly not a good team leader or player hen compared to the rest of MCC ngl. He doesn't have the confidence of a leader when he speaks and doesn't have the will to be positive and encouraging like hBomb. The stats rarely lie.

@@creator2909 Pretty sure he said he doesn't like to call out walls since he thinks it's distracting. Of course he does worse in bingo and build-mart, the latter usually has very same-y scores, and bingo is mostly about game knowlegde and sheer speed (and luck). I repeat that I do not believe he is a great, or even a good team player, I said he was fine. I've seen him struggle in SoT sometimes because he forgets to call out keys and vaults, but, as a fellow ADHDboi, I think it's mostly because of that. I watch the streams regularly and know he is socially awkward, but most of my friends are too and usually communicate just fine with me and eachother (I'm not socially anxious really but I'm kinda introverted, so I get it too). That's kinda what I meant with him being good as long as he knows people, like phil, tapL, skeppy... He is also way funnier when he is comfortable, you can tell. Anyway, I feel like these comments are getting exponentially longer and I'm up to call it a day after we round it up maybe lol.

I suddenly understand why people say Techno is under insurmountable pressure to win. Hearing you complain about him not coming FIRST in literally every game made me realise that a lot of fans, especially newbies working entirely off Techno’s reputation would genuinely think it an L. I thought it was a joke, and an annoying minority of tweens, but it might be more significant than I realised. I literally could not care less if Techno wins any of his games. It’s fun and satisfying to see him win, but I always thought his gameplay, humour and commentary were the real draw.

I figured Techno is in the MC world the same way a lot of big WR holders are in the speedrunning world where people act like EVERY RUN should be a WR. Do they actually think that? For sure. It's all a meme! Techno's own sarcasm and ego led to a sarcastic chat that memes him for being terrible because he wasn't perfect (despite how proud and impressed with him we are in reality) and he knows it's all a meme! But when the pressure does seem to obviously be getting to him the chat shifts tones and spams support and positivity to cheer him up so that his anxiety doesn't overwhelm him. For the most part, most fans get when Techno's in a headspace where they can safely meme him about not being the best and when it's better to reign it in.

-In Parkour Warrior, those blocks were glass panes, not ice. They were just retextured. -The parkour difficulty depends on which one you’re playing on because Noxcrew modify the parkour every championship (except the newest one because it got replaced, I think). This one wasn’t that difficult, especially with practise. The ladder neos (the one where you had to go around the glass panes) was probably the hardest part for them. -Also, neos are parkour jumps where you jump around a block and land on the other side. It was named after that one scene in The Matrix I think. There’s ladder neos (the one Dream helped Techno with), double neos, winged neos, etc. (Platforming is called Parkour in Minecraft) -The trident has an enchantment called Riptide and if you’re in water/it’s raining, you can using it to propel you upwards -In Skyblockle, all the materials are on the outer islands. You have to act fast because the border closes in as time passes. This game was replaced by Sky Battle where you get infinite concrete and have a vertical border in addition to the one you saw. -In Bingo but Fast, you need to craft the things on the bingo map. Once a certain amount of teams craft one thing on the map, it gets locked out. Iirc you also get bonuses if you craft an item first. -In Dodgebolt, the top two teams face off against each other. The points don’t reset but it determines the overall winner of the event (the winners get crowns until the next MCC and they also get coins from Noxcrew mailed to them. -Shooting someone while they’re getting an arrow is a strat, but it doesn’t always work because now most people wait for the other team to shoot before getting it. That way, getting the arrow is 100% safe. -In Dodgebolt, what you need to do depends on which team is shooting. While the other team’s shooting, you need to make unpredictable movement so that they won’t know whether to shoot to the left, to the right, or directly at you. When you’re shooting, you need to analyse how the other team’s moving and make a guess on where they’re going to go. So, it’s both skill and luck. -Next MCC is on December 12 at 8pm GMT if you want to catch it live.

there is point scaling where later rounds are worth more, but not so much that early rounds are obsolete. Sands of time, the last game they played, is a very high risk/high reward game so its great for catching up by thousands of points which is actually bad for them. Something like hole in the wall or rocket spleef where most points come from survival would be better for them because you only need to ensure that you're in the top 2 to be in the finals. Unlike the other rounds where the minigame you play is voted on, the finals is always a game of dodgebolt between the top 2 teams to decide the winner. Dodgebolt is literally just dodgeball but in minecraft

I presume you were joking about Dream and Techno being rivals but just in case you weren't sure they are actually close friends. Another one of Dreams biggest 'rivals' is Illumina since they fought for speedrun WR for a while, but they're also really close. A lot of people also think Tommy and Dream are rivals but just to clarify Tommy is like Dreams younger brother. Like i said i think you're joking but a lot of people actually think these rivals are real and they hate each other so be careful of dumb comments you might get.

All the players were given jump boost during the game! 19:19 The trident has the riptide enchantment on it, which, when used in water, (by holding right click) can send you through the water extremely fast (or, if used in rain, can make u fly, but that doesn't fit into ace race at all) I love the MCC videos, they're so much fun to watch and they're always so intense when watching live. -It's not on Hypixel, but I see that you said that already lol -I don't think there's anything officially done by them for beginner's tournaments (but god do I wish there was! Playing on the MCC maps would be so much fun) But yeah, they've said they specifically aren't releasing the maps they've built on purpose. (I really wanna play Ace Race, ohhhhhh I really do) -If you want to watch the most recent MCC, I think you should! I personally watched from Philza's pov, but Dream's pov was fun too! They don't have edited videos for them though, so you'd have to watch the whole stream lol

The organizer of MCC is Smajor, AKA Scott, and he explained in one of his videos that when you sign up for MCC you have to state if you’re goal is to play very competitively, just to play for fun and don’t care if you win, or if you’re fine with either. He then creates teams accordingly. This means that while everyone is playing the games, some are going to be much more competitive than others. There’s even a team that plays sometimes full of KZbinrs that mainly play the sims 4, but still play a little Minecraft(but they don’t plan on winning MCC). So overall, while it can be played very competitively, you can play it even if you aren’t the best at Minecraft, as long as you know Scott and he invites you(there is a limit of 40 people per MCC, so he needs to switch out people every month). I hope this helps you understand a little bit more. If not, sorry, I tried(I also hope this makes sense, I’m not the best at explaining things...)

19:40 Techno actually holds the all time record on this ace race course now (of tournament players that is, the testers have faster runs because, well, they're the testers, they've played it a lot more and have no stress from being live in a tournament) And his record will likely be final because they retired this map. That run was absolutely nuts too, the three fastest laps were all Techno and he was like half a minute ahead of the second place. You can watch it on his second channel (Technothepig)

Technoblade and Dream are the second and fifth-best MCC players respectively by average scores. At this point in the tournament's lifespan, Techno was coming off of the Potato War and his scores had been suffering somewhat in the previous two tournaments as a result. He got 9th in MCC6, 7th in MCC7, and 6th in this one, but he normally places top three or at least top five. He holds the record for most coins earned in one tournament with 4307 in MCC4 and is one of two players to have never left the top ten. He's also arguably the best Dodgebolt player because he has great accuracy and probably the best strafes in the tournament. Since MCC8, he's placed 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd in the three tournaments he's played in. Dream usually places in the top three but has choked a few times. Most notably, in MCC9 he got stuck in a trap in Sands of Time and wasn't able to get out to bank his coins. But I believe he holds the record for most coins earned in one game with his Sky Battle in MCC11 and is probably the best at parkour in the event (an argument could be made for PeteZahHutt as he doesn't practice and still does very well, but I'll give it to Dream). He also practiced Dodgebolt a lot before MCC11, which he won, and is now probably one of the best Dodgebolt players as well. Since MCC8, he's placed 13th, 3rd, 1st, and 7th in MCC9, 10, 11, and 12 respectively.

12:30 about the Hole in the Wall, they're stressed because it's easy, but the points are counted per enemy death (6 points = -1 enemy, there's a total of 40, so that stacks pretty fast), so if you die you're giving points to them. Just by losing 1 round you're already on the loosing end, so no matter how easy it is, 1 mistake can change everything

Also, there’s a coin multiplier every Few rounds, so the coins you get in a game after that will be multiplied(ex: *2.5 coins). Also, even if you’re in second place in coins, you’ll get taken to the dodgebolt arena(1st place team vs the 2nd place team), and if your team wins that, you win the entire game(even if you have less points than the other team)

Don't remember if was MCC 9 or 10, they opened two teams for "regular players" - you could only apply if you had a prepared 4 player team, had to fill a form explaining what were your expectations with the MCC, if you were there to have fun or if you and your team were more competitive, etc.. I'm a very mediocre MC parkour person. I'd say the MCC parkour is pretty difficult. I think where the real kick is that it doesn't progress in difficulty. There will be a few easy ones and then a hard one. So that could cause a person who could do really well on the rest of the course to just get stuck on one level earlier on. It can be very frustrating for newer players who just don't know the map as well. There are definitely way harder parkour maps, I'd say this one is very good for the competition because of the vast variety in skill level between all the participants. The map changes slightly throughout most the MCCs (the game was completely removed from the most recent one tho) At a certain point the designers did become more focused on stopping Dream from finishing than on making the game balanced. Edits: Also, I'm pretty sure they have jump boost for hole In the wall that's why they can make that two-block jump. MCCs games are not any other server. To play them you need to get into the event, unfortunately. Other servers have similar games but not these exact ones. Also despite its name, MCC is not huge of an event. It happens more than once a month, while the slots are very exclusive. It's more for fun than for glory. ALSO the tridents in Ace Race have an enchant called Riptide on them, this allows for the player be flung through the air when the trident is thrown however, the trident can only be thrown when the player is in water. The way Bingo works is every team has a bingo card with a bunch of different items your team has to run and make/find all the items they can before the time run out. Once a item is collected by enough teams you can no longer get points by crafting it Sorry for the long comment that keeps getting longer, I just really like MCC and know a little too much about it.

Also, I wanted to point out (this is something true back then not so sure about this now) but there is usually 1 team who isn't filled with (mostly) dedicated Minecraft players but is filled with 4 celebrities who wanted to do something fun for the month (which for this game was the orange ocelots) so although you probably won't be invited soon-ish you could be on that team later on

Now that you've been introduced to MCC, I'd recommend watching Grian's highlights of one of his championships. He's usually a builder and somewhat of an expert with am elytra, but he manages to do an extraordinary PvP accomplishment. The video is on his second channel Two Much Grian.

If you are looking for more MCC content, Dream has a video on his channel from MCC 6, when he first joined and was against Techno. It's called "Techno vs. Dream" and shows a lot of the origins of their rivalry. Also MCC is not a part of Hypixel, but is run by Noxcrew. some things you mentioned, 1. in pakour warrior, it was not ice it was glass 2.The desicion dome is where they vote on the game, the games are listed at the top, and you have to vote by throwing your chicken in to the sections below. 3. what krinios was saying in battle box is referencing mc ultimate, where techno was placed on a team of 3 yet still won. before that event the organizer tweeted something similar, and after techno won it became a meme. 4. in ace race, the tridents have an enchantment called riptide on them. this enchantment lets you "fly" through water. you can also literally fly if it is raining when you have this enchantment 5. in Bingo, the earlier you obtain a certain recipe the more coins you get. if you are the first team to get it, you get 45 coins and the later you get it the less coins you get. also, only a certain number of teams can get any given item,so if they are red, then you can no longer get it. 6. an axolotl is like a lizard but with these things coming out of its neck Addressing your questions at the end: 1. Mc Championships is created and run by Noxcrew, not by hypixel. Also, hypixel is a 1.8 server, and Mcc is 1.16 2. They do not have begginer tournaments, but im sure you could find fanmade remakes of many of the games 3. I heard you mention something about it changing "in recent years". I understand that you probably didnt mean this, but Mcc has only just had their 1st birthday. I understand you probably have figured out alot of this, as i got here a bit late, but i kinda just felt like typing alot of stuff for some reason but i didnt want to do my midterm.

I’m so glad you got to check out MCC! They don’t really have a beginner tournament but there are lots of Minecraft torments online for different skill levels. MCC is definitely one of the best out there though, if not the best. I’d love to see more reaction videos from you for MCC. Also you asked about the parkour course and it’s difficulty level. It’s crazy difficult, only Dream and Petezhut have ever beaten it (with Dream being the only one to beat it multiple times) I’d really recommend watching him run it. Ok I'll try to clarify some things, if I get something wrong, or repeat smth please correct me :) - If you want more insight on the rules of each game, they're always written out in the chat before the game starts so you can look at player’s streams or probably the wiki. - different games have different point differentials and further into the tournament games are worth more points. - the final game is always dodgebolt which is between the top 2 scoring teams for the win. - the “unpopular opinion” comment is a tweet that came from the mcu tournament techno played in (which you reacted to a few days ago) It became a huge meme, and Krinios converted it for mcc. (correct me if im wrong) - mcc is a small tournament (invite only) by smajor Side note: - techno’s pretty chill this mcc, but he’s also been a try hard: - he optimized build mart in mcc 7 where (pre tournament) he identified the 26 possible builds, noted every material needed exactly, organized them by section, and distributed those to his team so they could insta build everything at the end of the round. - in mcc 11, for ace race, (also pre mcc) he found the best route and all the shortcuts before hand and made an unlisted video for his team, he also broke the records for fastest time. A couple of these minigames are on Hypixel, but most are unique to the Championships and appear on no other servers sadly. There is also no way for the public to access these minigames from the tournament casually :( (Except Parkour Warrior, you can download the course, someone perfectly recreated it.)

Getting to SkyBlock is weird; click the compass in your inventory (should be in your first hotbar slot) then click the little globe-looking icon (top row, third space from the left) that'll teleport you to your private island and start the SkyBlock quests.

12:17 i think its because of ping, but its extremely difficult to jump through 2 block tall gaps in that game, and sometimes people jump with correct timing but they still get knocked off for seemingly no reason, and sometimes people jump with completely wrong timing, but they can just glitch through the wall because minecraft is generally pretty buggy like that.

19:17 In minecraft you can use the trident as a weapon by either Hitting, or throwing it. But if you use a specific enchantment you'll be able to use it in a different way, when ever you're in water you'll be able to launch yourself through water or into the air like they do here in MCC

I think you should try hosting a minecraft server, find some responsible moderators and make sure to watch it closely at the start to help filter out the trolls and griefers. Then it should be pretty sick. It's a lot of fun having a server and see what wild things people of your community make on it. On the topic of the video, the parkour with the elytra and trident that technoblade placed 5th in. In a later mcc he actually breaks the world record for fastest laps on each of his laps. So it goes to show how much a single loss weighs on techno, so much that he makes a point to become the best at it so that he proves that he can.

I’m working on setting a server up but it’s apparently pretty resource intensive from what people have told me and my comp can barely run Java edition as is. I’m trying to get one going but it’s just going slower than I thought it would.
