i would say no dream’s streams aren’t really like that, in fact normally when he does ask for primes on his own it’s more “use it if you’d like, or use it on one of my friends!” he really only goes in this hard when he’s on his friends streams, in order to get them more subs lmao. ( he once had karl jacobs leave his own stream for 5 minutes just so he could come back to the surprise of thousands of subs gained, it was really sweet and just a cute little story that kinda shows how nice he is with his friends and helping them grow their channels!! :) ) also, dream knew that using the whole god and worship bit would make it more fun for viewers, to the point where the streamers essentially selling out is super enjoyable to watch, it’s why it works so well ^_^ and why the prime path, church, and log exist!! so yeah i would say he kinda started the trend among smp members to sellout like this (not techno, it’s been his brand for ages) quick add on: they have chill streams all the time! at the end of the day they’re all just friends ^_^which is why tubbo probably wasn’t on the server, he was looking to just talk and joke with his buddies, and not really game! also it doesn’t really matter how deep into lore characters are (whether they’re allied or hate eachother) they’ll still hang out in between big plot points, they’ll just be “out of character” and will make sure the audience, if there’s any confusion, knows it isn’t canon :) “lore streams” are normally made pretty obvious that that’s what they are!

There are a lot of streams that go off script and are just these people messing around since they're friends and want to hang out on stream, so back in season 1 specifically they used to hang out with Dream just because they wanted to talk. Like with the exile arc Tommy and Tubbo couldn't interact for plot so in mcc they were so happy to be on the same team.

basically, if they're not plot streaming or not streaming at all they can hang out on the SMP even if your enemies in the lore. For example, Dream and Tommy can hang out together when it's not canon. But now, the roleplay is becoming so real that they can only hang out off stream or noncanon videos like the weather mod video or something like that

I loved this video!! also, just a recommendation for when you are watching the lore videos, I highly suggest watching karl jacobs series "tales from the smp" . it's spin offs from different time periods before and after the smp, and it's spoiler free (except for the most recent tales from the smp) ! it also goes into depth on karls character on the smp and his character is one of the coolest in my opinion :)

About the "can they just talk off canon, when in canon they're enemies" thing... Deam doesn't talk a lot overall and usually when they're on the server, it's at least somewhat canon, but there were instances where fore example Shlatt logged on just to chill with Techno, after his death and during Tommy's exile, there was the last mcc, so Tommy was teamed up with Tubbo, but they didn't really talk on the server

This took place after the L'Manburg Revolution before the Election. The cobblestone structure you saw was not the lava cast but actually a iron farm that tubbo started before he realized it was against the rules. They tore it down at some point. The "subs" or "the holy land" still exist and the area it is in is still a no-kill zone! Also for your question about a youtube version, Techno, Vikkstar, and Lazarbeam created a KZbin Gaming Religion with its main church being in Boomerville. In general, people do like to hang around on the SMP outside of lore streams and if they're streaming, they'll usually specify that it is a non-lore stream. A lot of time people will be on the server when they're not streaming as well and hang out in discord calls with each other.

Church prime is located right near the community house, not far from Sapnap's house and Eret's tower, so it's right in the middle of the Dream SMP. A good distance from L'manberg. I'm not sure what the cobblestone structure was, but it wasn't the eiffle tower... that was right behind Skeppy and BBH's house, which was pretty far from the community house. My bet is that it had to do with the museum, which hadn't been built yet.

You’re actually right about casual noncanon interacting becoming less common because of the heavy roleplay. The SMP used to be mostly funny interactions and periodic roleplay streams, while now the default is canon, at least for big players like Tommy, and noncanon streams are the exception and require clarification. It’s not like noncanon interactions don’t happen anymore. A lot of people do things like: 1. More casual streams without much lore (Ranboo, Puffy, Eret, Tubbo, etc. do a lot of chill streams where they vibe w/ other members and chat). 2. Switch over to chill times after lore (Tommy needed technical help from Tubbo during an Exile Arc stream and they just gave up on roleplay and hung out; BadBoyHalo always switches to noncanon mode after he’s done with lore, a week ago 1/4 of the server showed up and helped him build a nether hub, including Jschlatt; basically any stream where Jschlatt joins call turns into a noncanon one). 3. Group streams completely removed from canon (Karl’s karaoke stream with the canonically fractured Dream Team; basically any stream where they’re doing something together and just hop onto the server). It’s just that, as the default is canon, we don’t get any streams like this one anymore. For one, Dream doesn’t causally pop on people’s Dream SMP streams to talk anymore. Last time he did it was a chill stream with Bad, but that was over a month ago I think, and that was because George and Sapnap were already there. I guess it would break the immersion, Dream’s character being as scary and reclusive as he is, for irl him to pop around hanging out with people, especially when they’re a lot of the time they’re in a sort of “pseudo-canon mode.”

I wouldn't say cannon is the default, all of Tommy's videos are relevant to the lore but they aren't strictly a thousand percent cannon they are like two thirds in cannon. It's not all dramatic cannon it's just Tommy being half character Tommy doing things that's relatively out of cannon. There are hardly any completely not cannon moments for Tommy but that doesn't mean the default is in cannon like in the highlights videos YoBGS sees.

Tommy was about all the prime stuff and prime path and log before this it just wasn't called church prime. Wilbur named it the prime path before he was on the server because Tommy would walk up and down the path being funny and farming primes for hours because Tommy couldn't find much to do. Wilbur was very cynical about the server before he joined properly and was teasing Tommy about it a lot they are "like brothers" as Tommy would say. Wilbur even says at the start of his first dsmp video that his audience would say "Will, the DreamSMP? That doesn't really sound like your scene, theyre all hardcore minecrafters" I personally never thought Will would ever make a video on the smp before his first one. I thought he thought it was lazy content so he wouldn't make a video tbh.

Most of the smp is chill streams that are half in character half out of character. So they can talk to whoever they want and vibe and build stuff but if they need to switch into like half cannon because a donor asks a lore question or they vc someone and they bring cannon up. Full on lore streams are pretty obvious and not very often but you can tell when it's happening because you here the cc in character.

I have been on Tubbos side throughout the whole DreamSMP as a Tubbo apologist. Also they are very good at separating roleplay and non roleplay. They plan when there will be lore streams and stuff like that, so they easily are able to collab outside of roleplay. A good way to find relationships between characters is the DreamSMP wiki. you seem very confused about where on the timeline this is. It’s after the first war for L’Manburg and before the elections even started. The ruin in the background you thought was the lava cast of the Eiffel Tower is the ruins of Tubbo’s home that had arson committed angst it some point in the L’Manburg war for independence and was later turned into a war monument. The area they were at in the end then became Church Prime and the Holy Lands where it is illegal to kill people, and if you do kill someone you’ll get “smited” aka /killed by Dream.

I might be wrong but I think the thing you thought was the Eiffel Tower was the remains of Tubbo's iron farm which Dream destroyed. Definitely not the Eiffel Tower, that wasn't even built yet and it's nowhere near the HolyLland. Also no, it's not in L'Manberg.
