Seus PTGI is the most realistc. Bismuthlib has the laziest shaders. (it hasn't gone far from original) Rethinking Voxels, Nostalgia VX and Soft Voxels have nice-looking light scattering, that makes light soft. But Rethinking Voxels is very contrast and Soft Voxels has oversaturated insulting colours, what makes Nostalgia VX one of the best. Voxlementary is an incredible addition to original Minecraft. Kappa PT, Molly VX, VXfluff don't include an attempt to render soft light. Where Kappa PT runs successfully, VXfluff pretty well, but with some weird features and Molly VX is a failure, especially with contrast colours. What about underwater vision it's all looking very well, except Kappa PT, where the light has no sense for the whole style of it. So in conclusion Seus PTGI, Nostalgia VX, Voxlementary and VXfluff are the best shaders of the video.

Soft Voxels performance is so abysmal though that it’s completely impractical for most PCs. With most shaders I get 40FPS at the highest or nearly highest settings. With Soft Voxels I get 20FPS no matter what I do. And this isn’t on some crummy laptop. I have a Ryzen 7 5800X with an RX 6750 XT and 32GB of RAM.

@@EthanH1 uh thats a little low for the stuff you got in your laptop. I know laptops are a bit slower but my PC (rx6600xt, ryzen 3600) runs most shaders with 80-90 FPS

@@jakob8940 It’s not a laptop. It’s a full size PC. It just runs so terribly because the shader is unoptimized. I could turn down settings like render distance (currently at 32 chunks), but I could also just use a different shader that isn’t so insanely demanding.

Rethinking Voxels looks by far the best, but it has really bad optimization. It's by far the most ressource hungry out of all shaders I've tried. Also, since it's quite new, it still has a lot of lighting bugs. Nonetheless I'm looking forward to when it's finished, without bugs and good optimization.

What specs do you have and what performance do u get (fps)

@@atlasjack1152 3070ti, 32gb ram, ryzen 5800x and even on low settings the best I can get at 1440p is 70 fps. Average is around 50fps and in the Nether it's pretty much unplayable because it drops below 20fps. Medium settings would be around ~10fps less. Comapred to that, SEUS PTGI gets me 70~90 fps on medium settings. Currently that's what I use. It still looks pretty good and at least it never drops below 60 fps, which is the minimum fps I'd like to have.

i was so freaking pleased when you moved to underwater and suddenly the sound got lowpass muffled XD that was the moment i had to stop and hit the like button might've noticed even sooner if you added reverb in caves :p just for atmosphere

Light is nothing without Shadows, that what Rethinking Voxels is made for. And, the best one here.

The difference is simple,seus PTGI created a scary atmosphere,rethinking volex make more fogs,KappaPT create a high contras lighting and colors,NostalgiaVX make alot of fogs than rethinking volex,and VXfluff created a slightly detailed blocks and bistmuthlib make a little detailed lighting,also molly VX slightly add fogs in the water

SEUS has absolutely ZERO colored lighting. I've tried every shaderpack out there and Rethinking Voxels is by far the best looking and most realistic aside from the lighting glitches it has. Kappa PT is tied and just as good
