► Minecraft Epic Hidden Door(Bud Switch) Tutorial

I have made another redstone door tutorial, this one is special do to the fact it uses no buttons levers or pressure plates to open the secret entrance / hidden door. Yes thats right this door is 100% impossible to stumble onto. It works with a BUD switch Smooth stone generator and a 2x2 trap door design.
if you destroy a block in the hallway it activates the bud switch witch instantly activates the smooth stone generator to repair the wall and opens a 2x2 trap door under you to drop you into your secret base/chest room.

@@Thanatos69420 Wow I forgot about this comment. Just try to triple check that everything is right; check that no blocks are blocking redstone, that the piston isnt pushing too much, etc. I also vaguely remember getting confused at the part where he makes the piston switch down by where the door opens, if thats where you're struggling, I was in the same boat but i forget how I got that fixed, just fiddle with it a bit.

@@witherwarrior1148 The problem is at the very first piece that he places down lol, the one sticky piston. What's supposed to be happening is whenever I break the block on the wall then it's supposed to supply power to the piston and push the block attached to chain into the smooth stone generator and auto repair the wall. The only thing that isn't happening is the piston extending when there isn't a block next to it. I haven't gone on to make the trap door part yet because I would like to make sure this works first but it's not for whatever reason

@@Thanatos69420 I tried building it again myself and I think I may have had the same thing happen, maybe. For me, I forgot to make sure to place enough stone so that the repeater at 9:25 can actually send its current through the block.

@@witherwarrior1148 You're talking about the repeater sending the current through the smooth stone generator line right? It's working right just the piston will not budge at all unless I put a redstone source either on top of it or next to it by hand

One problem. That "one-tick delay" was 2 ticks, and the "no delay" was 1 tick. Repeaters by default have 1 tick and there is no 0 ticks on a repeater. Also, this T Flip-Flop is so beta 1.7. Oh and btw the new ones use a real 1-tick delay, and I saw Etho use it in a survival episode. It is also spam-proof.

It’s been more than 7 years, 1.15.1 is out and so much has changed. But this still works. This is my go to tutorial for secret entrances and it still gets me that this still works. Thanks so much for this awesome tutorial

What you do for exit is put a ladder to the top and place a block there so it's hidden

make another door going out that can only be opened from inside, maybe a 4x4 hidden pistor door, which is similar to the one in this turorial but instead of facing upwards it should face forward

Yes it does, for me though only the host can use it. The other players try to go down but just get pushed back up by the pistons.

I managed to get half of it to work in surival still working on it I modified it to get it to work adding a version of the m.instructables.com/id/Mine-craft-redstone-button-signal-time-extender/. Flip the repeaters and set the two next to each other to full tick I realised the pulse wasn't lasting long enough so doing this will extend the pulse

Heya! Loved the video! This is def. one of the coolest secret doors I've seen. A question though - I've been reading through the comments and lots of people had the same problem I'm having (trapdoor opens but won't close on it's own). Did you ever figure out what we were doing wrong? I"m on my 3rd attempt now and it looks great but just won't quite work (using lapis blocks for the trapdoor)

that's a good question, I made this in mind of having a section of my base underground and the hallway would be between two rooms totally submerged under dirt and stone. but I suppose it's not that much to hide. locating the corner of the hallway in just a way so that it's built into a natural hill could probably hide the wiring, maybe even build a porch off the second lvl right on top of the hill so no one would bother digging into the hill.

You would have to make a different exit. And yes the bud switch could be used to activate anything. If you wanted it could open something as simple as an iron door. Or it could open a 2x2 piston door or even activate an automatic wheat farm.

I had to change a couple of small details but I managed to get this to work on the xbox. I saw your comment first so figured I'd use a different cobblestone generator. In the end I used the one you see in the tutorial level (the one they use for the bridge).

what must be happening is at some point the redstone power is staying on. make sure there is not a repeater powering a block and transferring power to a place you don't want it. also i had reporters pointing at the t flip flop from both directions to stop back flow of the power, id check that as well. hope that helped

I managed to do this on a server and I have the hugest underground faction base and I even have a false secret door (meant to be sort of obvious) that makes intruders fall into lava. Awesome!!!!!!

for the xbox version, i had to hit the button multiple times as well as replace the redstone by the stone generator with a repeater for it to work. Just keep fiddling with the button and it will eventually work.

Hey! Fantastic videos. This is great. I have a question. As of 1.4.5, do you know if something has changed with regards to either the timing of lava, redstone, or pistons? Your smooth stone generator setup doesn't work for me. The lava consistently also moves over to the source block of water also. I can't see why. I eventually copied your design exactly, block-for-block, and it still fails in the same manner. Have you experienced this recently? Any ideas? Great videos, & I appreciate any input.

This smooth stone generator design breaks if lava overflows water. Doesn't happen often, but when it does, it will not work one time, which is a big problem in this case. It happens at most designs, but it can be fixed if you first push the stone upwards and then to the side. This way lava needs to flow 1 block down before it touches water, so the water has plenty of time to do it's job.

+Xrader Gaming secret can be done with reverse exit.. sticky pistons /regular pistons and hidden stairs in a different location will take you out
