The thing is Xisuma, this was recently fixed in vanilla 1.19.3. The problem was cramming calculations were executed on the render thread. They changed this and now it shouldn't lag so much.

I doubt it's been fully resolved. Still prevalent in Vanilla 1.19.4. If it was worse than now, I really don't want to experience it prior 1.19.3. 😂

@@sarelklokow Perhaps, I haven't played much vanilla 1.19 so I wouldn't know. I just remember reading that it was fixed in the changelogs and I checked the bug tracker before commenting. Says it's fixed and it hasn't been reopened. It's not just cramming but also rendering the entities that can cause lag.

Try a mod called Sodium, you can look up a tutorial on KZbin or something, but this mod made my laptop go from 5 fps to about 60

as stated in a previous comment, this is no longer on the rendering thread, but is still calculated. it will now affect MSPT or server speed. ladders and scaffolding also accomplish the same task.

Setup a Minecraft Vanilla Server on Raspberry Pi 4 8GB on Raspberry Pi OS (previously Raspbian) a month back, with port forwarding via my router, for my daughter and I, also for her friends. Noticed the poor framerates near our animal farms, but I only understand exactly why now - thank you! Lost a day's progress due to a hacker joining while we were playing, a week back. Quickly resolved that via ban and implementing Whitelist (who knew someone with ill intent would join a server where two to five people play? 😂). Doing weekly automated full-save and daily automated incremental backups via FTP now. Will be doing a modded server shortly. Great fun! Please keep the tips coming... Kudos!

Another helpful thing is to turn on Vsync it limits the framerate to your monitor refresh rate this makes your computer aim for that limit instead of going for unlimited FPS I´m not exactly sure why it gives more performance than having unlimited FPS but it´s helpful nonetheless

one slight disclaimer, this is still more laggy than having a larger pen btw. if you let them have some room to move without collision they will cause less lag.

If you want to prank a friend, you can use this trick to "FPS bomb" them. stack up a ton of mobs inside a vine and place a piston under the block beneath, with a power source they'll likely activate by accident. The sudden explosion of mobs colliding with each other when the piston pushes will lag their game quite a lot and possibly crash their client or the server depending on how many mobs you use.

I sometimes have issues with random lag in Minecraft. Sometimes I’ll be just walking on a flat area and it’ll lag but other times I’m using tons of TNT in an amplified world and I have 60 fps.

Try using a few fabric performance mods together. Sodium, lithium, memory leak fix and ferrite core are the ones that I run together and they provide a really nice boost in FPS and stability.

This only works if you are not on mobile. Nothing *literally nothing* can make you get any more than 20 fps on a potato of a phone, and -5 fps on a tablet. Good luck 🤞
