unnerving mod idea:the monster stould always stare at you no matter what. it appears close to beds but has a very low chance to attack. it will spawn an a diffrent location every few minutes and when sleeping it will stare at your soul and when you wake up. its back to its original spot.sometimes it can appear at a random location

That is basically the Rake in Minecraft form. Doesn't attack, just stares at you while you sleep, varies depending on the source of course but mostly doesn't act like an active threat, just a creepy pale guy.

distant friends is pretty nice since all it does is make ya feel like yer being watched by actual ghosts. and though it aint horror, consecration really makes zombies and skellies terrifying early game till ya get a flint and steel and even then, its a lot more scary fighting off a zombie horde.

To be honest, the original cave dweler wasn't all the bad either. It just spawned a bunch of unoriginal clones

Subtlety and Liminality are some of the kings when it comes to Minecraft horror, and the Cave Dweller took a far more brute force approach. Cave sounds, the broken music disks, and the Deep Dark were all terrifying BECAUSE of their subtlety. The knock offs are even worse because they have all the negative elements of The Cave Dweller, AND they’re usually knock offs that lack all creativity or ingenuity.

@@captaintaggart6523 That's the thing, that's unnerverving, and sure, it'll jumpscare you; but you'll also get used to it, if it happens enough times; and no matter how many times you die to it; you will progress until you get Enchanted Diamond gear and it's likely to become a non-issue. And if it's the kind of "Dweller" mod that instakills you in full netherite; I don't see where's the fun in that.
