Wild speculation: I think chicken variants will come next, along with new eggs. Cacti will grow amythest-looking flowers, and there will be a new dry grass plant that spawns in deserts and badlands. They will also add the ability to place leaf litter on any block. I know this is far fetched, but it seems like a very good idea to me

They need to also add sheep variants with varied type of wool. I would love to see packed wool, that is a darker or cooler toned colour wool block instead. With the warm variants being lighter colours but warmer tones.

Alright I haven’t seen anyone else make this guess but we’re bound to see some more foliage and ambiance in the snowy/colder biomes. We have the warm, cold and temperate farm animals. They’ve “updated” the more temperate biomes with the bush and firefly bush/ambiance and they’ve done the same in the desert and badlands with the sand ambiance, cactus flower and dry grass. The cold biomes deserve the same treatment, I think we’ll start seeing it in next weeks snapshot with the new sheep variants. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I doubt Mojang will do it but I think this drop would've been a good time to implement the Moobloom, Vulture and the Iceologer, given that they can represent the temperate, warm and cold biomes respectively. I will always love this game but I feel like Mojang holds back some of the coolest or most fun features when it comes to updates/drops. I think this drop is still going to be great as is even though l'm not its targeted player demographic.

Sheep variants might be last becasue they're the hardest to implement - they have to deal with all the wool dyeing and create variant textures for each color. And still make sure the whole wololo Easter Egg works with the variants.

The sheep will definitely be next, but I wonder if Minecraft will roll out a new farm animal mob, like some Yeti Crab (that's a thing and it's a farm animal) or maybe we could get more goats than just the mountain goats. Speaking of goats and sheep, what if they made the two cross-compatible similar to the horse and donkey? There's already sheep-goat hybrids in the real world. Why not in Minecraft? Also, the llama, bee, mule, cat - they are also considered farm animals. I don't think they'll get any updates, but who knows.

I think they’ll do warm and temperate Bear variants next week for Valentine’s Day and probably add ambient sounds to cold biomes via a new bush that creates “Frozen Whispers” along with possibly some new cold biome plants. Most of the update has been focused on the “Warm” Biomes so logically “Cold” will come next. Also, hear me out, the new structure that the template is for would work perfectly for a Swamp Structure called “Pillager Stronghold.” It’s an overworld structure that’s a step above the Pillager outpost, only found in Swamps, and could have a villager dungeon thus tying in villager variants in the swamp. It’s only speculation, but it could look similar to the small castle structure shown in the trailer of the Minecraft movie.

*I think this drop is still experimental because they want to change the naming system of updates/drops and match them on both versions* (Java and Bedrock) as Gnembon said theyre trying to fix the naming and working on having one system for both versions in the Tidzimi interview. So imo they'll be experimental to the point that the new naming releases on Bedrock because if they did change it to be non experimental now it would suggest that the drop is gonna be version 1.21.70 which I don't think is the case here *But it's just a THEORY!*

Sun with calendar is seasons. In different seasons, the sun is higher or lower in the sky, rising earlier or later, and setting earlier or later. So that could affect the day night cycle, and then maybe they would change the seasons on an abbreviated schedule, like every 30 day/night cycles, a typical calendar page for a month?

Termites would add a whole new system of wood decay to the game so no it’s not as easy as just making a particle effect. Honestly this update is already good enough for me, the only thing I could want more from it is more ambient sounds for the other biomes. Also, people who have never developed a game underestimate how easy it is to just add new features. Mojang has a level of quality that they want each feature to have, so that’s exactly why they can’t just add termites as a particle effect and be done with it, also they have to be careful about bloating the game with things people won’t get any use out of, which is something people ALSO complain about.

Goats, Sheep, Donkeys, Llamas, Ox, Turkeys, Ducks, Geese and even Horses are all farm animals. We even have fictional ones like Moo-shroom. Firstly we need all of those, secondly, each should have at least one variant per temperature, ideally one per biome. Collecting mobs in Minecraft is like playing a better version of Pokemon, but not if there is less than a dozen kinds.

If they make variants for sheep, I could only guess we might see more wooly/less wooly sheep based on the environment, and perhaps some horns for them as well. Perhaps we could also see a tamed goat variant? Get us some of dat goat cheese. My theory about the flower emoji and the sun is that some flowers will now have different textures when the sun comes out, much like Eyeblossoms. The calendar emoji I believe is also connected to this potential new mechanic. Possibly Minecraft will have seasons that can change weather patterns and allow for specific flowers to spawn. Jungles, Savannahs, Badlands and Deserts will have dry and wet seasons that'll promote more flower spawning and in the deserts/badlands perhaps allow for oasis to suddenly pop up. The current snowy biomes may have varying levels of snow build up or melt away, with cold weather plants emerging out of the snow. Temperate biomes may have leaves changing colors, with leaf litter and flowers spawning/decaying naturally depending on the season. As far as anything else about flowers, one thing that I'd love to see but I'm not holding out for is the ability to harvest certain crops early to get decorative flowers. Like Melons, Glowberries, Pumpkins, even Potatoes and Carrots produce flowers. Heck, they could even be used in potion brewing, since potato flowers are toxic.

It makes sense as we will be able to see more fallen dry leaves in autumn and winter, more flowers in spring and summer. This also helps with them experimenting so many particle effects. I’m starting to think an update in the near future might involve the Illagers in some capacity. First off, one of the leaks was in that Illager language rather than English (it’s name always escapes me), then there’s the fact that illagers run away from the creaking, which could also hint to something more in the future, and lastly, on the official Minecraft KZbin channel, towards the end of their Video covering the Illager’s origins, Jens straight up says “you will see more of them in the future.” (Not to mention early on they referred to the Illusioner as though it were in the game.) My guess: this next update might not only be an illager update (or maybe not the very next update, but anytime in the next 3-5 years), it will also add some new illagers from Minecraft Dungeons specifically.

the mooshroom snout is probably going to be treated the same way soul fire was treated. When soul fire released, players and mobs burning from it would burn orange not blue. Still dont think this has changed

They should add warm and cold Sheep, with those they could add 2 new types of wool. Like Darker or more medium color wools!!!!

They're probably not doing anything with the sheep, we already have sheep variants, technically, pretty sure we'll just get cows, pigs, and chickens, sheep areg aren't really "farm" animals. Maybe we'll get a new mob, like a juicy turkey!

11:40 I really hope that they go and do some thing maybe with majority of things that’s been Endgame for the longest now. Maybe with some updating some animals I saw somewhere that they have the farm animal tag so maybe we will be getting more animals and possibly more things such as more crops which would be honestly amazing but they would have to take their time with that because it would take a really long time maybe to think about the way they wanted to implement those crops and animals into villages because they would have to be reworked which would mean that we would get somewhat of another village update.

Sheep are getting a more curly haired Design and a better face and probably warm and cold Variants but I bet we’ll get some new goats and sand carpets most likely as a experimental feature
