the current state of minecraft youtube makes me so sad i grew up with stuff like dantdm and the original monster school, there used to be so much passion but a lot of the passionate minecraft youtubers either moved on from minecraft or ended up getting into controversy .. now these content farms have taken over the passion that minecraft youtube used to have for the most part a good example of this is monster school, it USED to be normal .. it was just a little animation series of mobs in school and it was simple, comedic, and innocent .. but then content farms took over the monster school genre and turned it harmful by having inappropriate / disturbing content in the thumbnails, and sometimes the videos themselves i wish parents understood that the internet is absolutely not a babysitter .. it was never fully safe for children, but it's even more dangerous now .. the amount of kids that are gonna be messed up by being exposed to content like this is gonna be huge, and that's VERY concerning

I can tell she knows, cause she isn’t deaf. She can obviously hear the videos R is watching. And what does her mom do about it? NOTHING. She thinks that R is “safe” and “won’t get exposed to inappropriate content,” That’s obviously a lie. I asked R what content she was watching, and at first it wasn’t too bad. She mentioned she watched Mr Beast, but not even a few seconds later, it got BAD. She watches KZbinrs like Lankybox, Aphmau, and probably other content farms. My cousins who are over a decade and a half younger than me are not allowed unsupervised on KZbin thank god, but it's wonderful being able to share with them the things that my brother and I watched. They're just getting into playing Minecraft and it warms my heart! I'm not saying KZbin was sunshine and rainbows back in the day (2009-2017 were my peak KZbin years). I ran into Drawn Together, Family Guy, and South Park clips WAY too young. I was definitely a part of the first generation of kids to have unadulterated access to the internet, the perks of having an I.T. dad who could steal broken laptops and fix them for us. @@chrisbealonis4655 Absolutely, and to be honest this actually hits close to home for me. My brother thinks it was “abusive” for my parents to not let us be exposed to this sort of thing as kids. He honestly believes that kids should be allowed to see porn and choose for themselves if they want to live like that. I don’t know how to convince him. He thinks that I “don’t know what the word is like” or I “don’t understand because this is how you were raised” but I do know, and I do understand. This is a marvelous video. After my video on Cobey, I realized that KZbin isn't likely to do anything about these channels because of the amount of money they also receive from them. I thought about calling out the biggest of these channels one by one myself to at least make people aware of this issue. I'm still considering it, but for now, there isn't really anything that could be done except spread awareness.

I really liked the use of imagery and the use of Meet The Grahams at 2:40. It really helps with the overarching message that KZbin kids is not ok. I have a 9-year-old brother who is absolutely addicted to Cash and Nico, the Maizen channel and others that post this type of content. I would be fine with him watching these channels, because on the surface, these channels are just like the ones we watched back in the day, like DanTDM Or Stampy, except a little more...interesting. But notice I said, "on the surface". When you are around your brother a lot, you seem to take note of the things he watches. and man, this stuff is absolutely horrid. The fact that people will stoop this low to get views on the internet is actually insane. And to make it sexual or inappropriate is just outrageous(Yes, I know me saying that makes me sound like an annoyed parent). But I can't be mad at just them. The fact that KZbin moderation allows videos like these to be posted on the KZbin Kids app is frustrating. I want my brother to have a healthy, innocent life as a kid, so it hurts to see him watching this content. But, Other than my rant, this video is great at shining light on the situation. Good work! Idk about SpongeBob, but it's a little bit different with MLP. I wouldn't say content farms got it bc at that time, they weren't as common. With MLP, it was just the fandom (Bronies) making really disturbing and adult content without any consideration that MLP was a show for kids, with its primary audience being little girls. I've noticed that its esp insidious with shows made for girls that end up appealing to adults as well It's still not great, but it's not entirely the same as this stuff. The disturbing MLP stuff was not made for kids, just not very well hidden from them either. I don't doubt there's content farm MLP stuff, but at it's most disturbing it was just the fandom Unless you're just talking about disturbing content being made in general and not content farms specifically. In which case, yeah, it's a very common and strange pattern that ppl make really disturbing stuff of kids media Ig it's just bc ppl find it funny or scarier to take something cute and make it the opposite

11:35 As a Kid who watched Eslagate videos when I was younger with my sister. I can still Vividly imagine what I saw. It by far wasnt the worst thing I saw when I was little, but. It helped make me feel like seeing or even Experiencing NSFW content when I was a kid was normal. It can and does cause terrible damage to kids, and the reason I'm putting so much emphasis on the NSFW content is that, Like I mentioned. It makes kids become accustomed or used to it happening because they think its fine, not only from experiencing it themselves but also from seeing it in the content they consume. Which can keep kids from reporting NSFW content in their lives untill its to late. In the best case they make it out of their childhood, traumatized, but atleast somewhat healed. At worst they're irreparable or even dead. Depending on which type of NSFW content your referring to. It's extremely harmful to kids to the point where I fear myself that if I had kids they'd experience that, or I feel disgusted that I watched content like that as a kid. I apologize for venting on this issue but I feel like the kids perspective of this is something alot of people dont think about. Especially since a little kid that sees Elsagate type content might go chase that dynamic with people whrn they're older.

I’m between the ages of 12 and 16 years old, and I’ve been a victim of Elzagate, if you can even call it that. As an unsupervised child on the Internet, I ran and consumed a lot of things that weren’t my age. My parents were never neglectful but too old to understand the danger, and didn’t know what I was consuming most of the time. What they did know about they made me stop, and sometimes they and suspicions but didn’t fully acted on them because they trust me but asked about it, at least. On the softer side of things, I loved horror and consumed creepypasta, which made me a bit paranoid before getting to sleep and experience some nightmares, but overall it wasn’t that bad. What was bad was the fetishist sexual content in “family friendly” presented KZbin videos that made me explore a twisted version of sexuality at a very young age and still affects me to this day: I know what vore was before understanding English (not my native language). I won’t go into details of course, and I was never hypersexual, but I was obsessed with talking about dark sexual matters like pedophelia and incest. I had a grim humour as a kid, due to gravitating towards soft horror on the Internet as a child, from the grim reaper in the Sims 3 to horror let’s plays. For example, I love fnaf but unfortunately I binged watched sexual fnaf mods and animation that made me have sexual thoughts at a frightening young age that were at times extreme… Now I’m the opposite of that, while I recognise sexuality is a normal part of life and more than okay when consented and healthy, I can’t help to associate it with vile things and corruption. Now, I don’t want to do anything with it and have extreme reactions to suggestive content, hateful thoughts because I know it’s going to get engraved in my brain and haunt me for a few days or there and there in my life. So yeah- It heavily saddens me, and many others in my case, seeing the cycle becoming worse and big corporations profiting on trauma. It’s disgusting, I hate it, it’s so vile… I has a similar reaction seeing millennials rase Ipad kids, which make sense, they didn’t get such a large access on the internet, but these poor children are doomed. I want regulations, I think my generation agrees we’ll be careful with what our children consumed and make sure they don’t become addicts like I was for a long time. No personal phone before middleschool with no to little social media before being high school. Monitor it, it has to be progressive. I want to make my kids experience fandoms like I loved to, and video games, but healthily and safely with my watch and time limits. I’ve seen a real life 3 year old or less being given her dad’s phone to a doctor’s appointment once, she demanded it without even knowing how to talk and was already an addict. It broke my heart I was never groomed, but got close, and I was lucky. Internet isn’t safe for children, I was so lucky to listen to Ilymations warnings regarding her own experience. I know many who were corrupted to an entirely worse extent, and I’m so sad for them. Please, look out for your little ones

13:15 last time they fixed such an issue was because of a lawsuit that cost money. There’s two possible things that could be done. Change KZbin Kids so it’s kid friendly or don’t let them watch it. They would surely have to do something once KZbin Kids gets flooded with protest videos. Idk if that’s the best solution,

As someone who just created and is growing a channel in this niche, my personal goal is to literally create videos that i would allow my future kids and my little cousins to watch. the whole purpose of the channel being created was because i genuinely enjoy playing the game, and my cousins always would talk about how they wanted to see certain things in minecraft which sparked the interest of me making a channel for that and would be appropriate for them to watch as well. It may be subjective to smaller channels but my inspiration tab on YT studio is filled with similar sized channels with “outlier” videos that are doing very well for the size of the channel itself due to this and it’s almost like YT KNOWS these videos work and want you to make similar videos to that specifically which is kind of crazy to me. My sole reason in being so meticulous is this issue alone, there’s too many that are riding off of the names of Cash, Nico, Omz, and ESPECIALLY Mikey and JJ and Aphmau are huge targets. The true people in this niche are also VERY against everything said in this video aswell, including myself. If there is a scene or any words (I’m bilingual and pronunciation on some of my words can be odd) which could by any means be taken out of context or misunderstood in any manner, i edit it out and cut it all out completely. I appreciate the bringing awareness to this, and i do wish things were the same landscape as previously seen with Stampy, DanTDM, CaptainSparklez etc (some inspiration of where most of us aim to make modernized videos as the ones we viewed as kids) where we can make content that is enjoyable and also truly PG and not littered with these videos. These videos are COMPLETELY wrong and shouldn’t be tolerated or even on the platform and the excuses that they “make money” is faulty because making genuinely appropriate content with appropriate thumbnails will generate you the same amount of money with more longevity. Thank you for this video, and most of this is to mostly clear the air of the fact that not all of the people in this niche are aiming to do such things for quick views. It’s disgusting.

I’m trying to parent my younger cousin the best I can because her mom won’t do shit. This involves monitoring her screen time, playing with her, and other stuff to keep her away from this dangerous content as much as possible, but since I don’t see her 24/7, it’s hard to know just how much this content has impacted her. She has been exposed to borderline gore, overstimulating videos, and possibly more. I’ve tried talking to her mom about it, but she won’t do anything about it and instead enables it. I’m so, so worried about her.
