The contrast between seasons is honestly crazy. Last time, rednames were feared by those who opposed them... this time, they're being hunted down like rats. It's crazy!

Probably because reds were allied with greens and yellows in 3rd life. As now red's do not ally with greens and yellows, red's are in disadvantage, as each death means one less body, they usually lose all their good stuff when transitioning to red (why leaving good stuff for someone who is no longer your ally), etc. Teams were much better balanced when it comes to life amount and gear in 3rd life. Here, reds are group with least healt and gear with only advantage of the first strike. As Etho, Scott and others always group together, there are not much opportunities for isolated kill.

It's because after dying most of them end up with no gear so it kind of evens the playing field a bit. The ones that are smart have backups and are more powerful. BigB is probably the most prepared red just because they pitied him and let him get his stuff after dying twice and he had quite the secret stash.

I'm relizing something tho.. When reds kill, they usually let the victim get their stuff back. But, when someone become red, the teamates won't let them get the gear back.

It does, but only if there are 3 or more (or maybe it works with 2, not sure), they glitch inside eachother and push themselves. whether they have TNT, chest, hopper or nothing, it's a very old glitch, kind of became a feature at this point.

Man watching Jimmy’s elimination from Martyn’s POV is just so sad because you can tell Martyn is thinking “haha another funny bit where we push around Jimmy and the other red names for a while,” and then Jimmy just straight up permadies. Combined with what we now know about the Watchers and what they had promised to give character! Martyn, it adds a whole other layer of shock and grief to his reaction
