@The Illusion I would recommend that you do, otherwise you have to light up the surrounding area and all the caves below your farm, but you must build a base somewhere in the middle of your tower (make sure you're between 30 and 50 blocks away, imo) because I've found that mobs will not spawn if you're in the ground and your farm is up in the sky

@@danielr2928 huh, that's weird, I gotta admit I didn't use this farm, maybe use a regular mob farm, it's not as good but at least it will work, maybe if you want to use the creeper farm, build it over the ocean as no other mobs can spawn in the ocean and will be forced to spawn in the farm, another idea is to make the actual farm bigger, not sure how much space creepers need, I'm no expert, but I hope this helps

Hold up! At 10 gunpowder per minute at the average count of the normal game which is an hour. So with the 60 minutes in an hour this “small” creeper farm gives you about 9 stacks of gunpowder PER HOUR! Which is roughly 600 gunpowder. Might be small but with this video showing proof of the 1 minute response time and kill time, it’s proven that you get roughly 9 stacks per hour

For some reason this build seems to work well or doesn’t for people. I would definitely check to see if you conditioned the area around it (i.e. lighting caves and surface areas within a 9 chunk radius, 4 chunks in each direction from the chunk the farm is on).

Btw I will hopefully be releasing a video of that world soon so I can show that design and give you a shout out it's a full survival world no cheats except for the fact that we exit without saving whenever we loose our stuff.

I created a superflat with carpet everywhere, and I only got one creeper at a time, I don't know enough about how spawning mechanics work, but whenever I have a farm in the sky it just doesn't work. My best guess for more spawns would be to extend the hopper timer, but that may not improve efficiency because you keep getting more and more wasted time.

Make sure to light up all caves within a 4 chunk radius of the farm. If all caves aren't lit up then mobs will spawn in the caves and not in the farm where you want them. It's a lot of work but it's the only way to get decent spawn rates on bedrock.

Anyone know if this still works? I can't get the "one minute on, one minute off" thing going. The hoppers are certainly facing each other and so are the droppers but if I put the 76 items in one hopper, they transfer to the other, but then don't transfer back. The redstone comparators are definitely facing the right way also as well as the redstone dust. I've followed Rogue Fox's videos before with no issues. I've watched this one a couple times and rebuilt a couple times. I'm curious as to what I could be doing wrong? BTW I'm on Bedrock edition on an Xbox console.

Joshua Optland because of the trapdoors in the farm... creepers are not exactly 2 blocks tall they are smaller... skeletons and zombies are 2 blocks tall ^^

Joshua Optland height. Creepers are shorter than Zombies/ skeletons so if you place trapdoors on the ceiling the space is too small for zombies.

Glad it could help! Unfortunately, no. Since the magma block is killing them we won't be able to get xp. You could try getting a swing in on them before they die to get some xp though since you would be causing some of their damage.

Thank you! It should work in any biome where creepers spawn. So an ocean or mushroom biome is probably not an ideal location 😉 As far as height, I haven't tested that, but I would recommend conditioning the environment (lighting caves, overworld, etc.) around the farm.

For everyone bitching that it doesn't work....this video is specifically for the Legacy Console Edition - Xbox360, PS3, Wii U, PS Vita. It is not for Bedrock or Java editions. If you are not playing a Legacy Console edition it probably will not work!

I can't seem to get the water to flow. I'm sure I followed it right. Only difference is I made my structure fully from cobblestone block. It's my first redstone build. Any suggestion where I went wrong. I did notice when I put items into the hopper they didn't switch

I’m assuming you built yours in Bedrock or Java edition.. this video was in legacy edition. The red stone and game mechanics were much different back then.

@@whitespider10 yeah I am. I can get the water to pour if I switch the button from one dropper to the other but it stays flowing. I was hoping for a simple ish creeper farm all the newer ones seem very complex and better to build in creator.

For the red stone thingy the cobblestone I used didn’t like switch it just stayed in the same hopper

didn't work for me (pe 1.16.40) neither the redstone or the farm itself, the creepers wont spawn and the dispenser didn't activated

I built it but it didn't work. I did it on PS3 and I followed every step but it's not working? And I am waiting 30 blocks away

@@Ahmed72a I actually did it when it didn't work I took out the the trap doors and I got two rotten flesh but then nothing
