Jurard has invested in this iron farm design, so let's go with explanation and recommendations: Jurard might accidentally frozen his lava at 11:43:49 since at the end he forgot to place the fence gates and the water can be observed flowing down the 3x3 hole. To fix this, try to remove all the water on top, plug the top of the 3x3 hole with cobblestone or planks, put 9 fence gates (need 9 logs to craft those) on top of the plug, open all of the fence gates, and remove the plug. Put back the water where they were and they should 100% cover the spawning platform without causing trouble. *Recommend to only fix the lava after this is done. The part at the end where banchou is confused why should he "put grass" at the wall 11:44:15, is for the golem not to spawn on the edges of the spawning platform. The mechanics for Java Edition iron farm prevents villager to make another golem if they could detect (visible or not) a golem nearby them. If a golem spawn on the border wall and get stuck there (not being dragged down to the lava) it will turn the entire farm into a pause. To fix this, the topmost part of the wall must be leaves or carpets or slabs. Currently we are using acacia planks in place. This design relies on the gossip mechanics of the villager, where they will try to spawn a golem in peaceful times. This is useful for players in Peaceful difficulty, when they cannot get a zombie to use the scare-type iron farm designs. The villagers will gossip twice each day (day = 10-20 minutes depending if player sleeps or not) so it will at least spawn two golems during that duration. --- The complete tutorial for Java Edition iron farm mechanics is covered by logicalgeekboy's "How To Build an Efficient Iron Farm Tutorial", essentially the first 10 minutes will cover everything including: condition for spawning a golem (minimum of 3 villagers, sleeping within the last 20 minutes, etc), the range of spawning and villager's golem detection range, the constraints preventing iron golem from spawning, and more.
