You wanna know real Minecraft pain? Well if so then take a- you're probably already sitting Anyway, I was working on an XP farm because I had enough Diamonds to make full Diamond armor and gear and I was looking to enchanting it, and I needed Cactus for the farm and I hadn't come across a Desert yet so I went out looking for one, I figured I didn't need a map as I could I thought just retrace my steps, oh how wrong I was After adventuring for a while I came across a Forrest so I went in trying to keep in a straight line, afrer going for a while I realized that I was nowhere near the end of the Forrest so I turned back, but when I made it to the end of the Forrest I was no where near where I started, so I just went on trying to find my point where I entered the Forrest, after walking for a while it was pretty obvious I was lost but I was nearing a Mountain biome which I knew I lived near one so I had some hope, but it became pretty obvious this was far bigger then the Mountains I lived next to, I came across a village and this is where I made my biggest mistake yet, I slept in a new bed and only in that split second I got in the bed I realized how stupid that was, so I after that I ventured off for about another day, I came across an Illager outpost, I figured I may as well have tried to get the chest at the top but once I got to the top I was bombarded by Illagers, they downed me to half health and I had no Choice but to just, I knew I was a goner but in a split second I remember you can use Haybales to reduce fall damage and I actually did it, nownI was feeling confident enough to go back up and collect what was in the chest, this time I blocked off the staircase and looted the chest, after that I jumped in a puddle of water to land safely, but they're I couldn't get out the water because of a 2 block high dirt wall, then an Illager found me and jumped in after me, I tried to swim under to escape him but then a Drown came after me and I was also about to drown so I tried to make a last second escape but it was to late, I was shot in the back and killed I had no way to find my stuff and no way to get home, in one last desperate attempt to get home I broke the villagers bed and killed myself hoping some how I would spawn in my home village, but it didn't work, I spawned on my original spawn Island which was ISLANDS away from where I was living With no way of finding my home I had no choice but to just leave the world behind, I didn't make _that_ much progress in the world but I spent alot of time they're Moral of the story, never, NEVER ever go adventuring without a map

Damn, I'm sorry for you and I can relate. One time I was literally losted in one of my worlds. I recommend to always made a screenshot of your home's coordinates and also trying to get a lodestone in case you lose the screenshot or you don't have time to open it
