edit: if you are using this farm in 1.18 where mobs only spawn in darkness lvl 0 make the top slab roof 22x22 instead of 14x14

i did the math, if you made it 22 wide instead of 14, it would take 1184 slabs, or 18 stacks plus 32. if you are using wood, it would take 148 logs, or 2 stacks plus 20

RESOLVED: Skeleton hesitating/not shooting iron golem: I added the first slab properly as shown, then I added an additional slab next to it towards the golem. Finally, i added one slab right underneath it. I just extended the setup by 1 slab. The arrows hit the protective slab or the fence in front of the iron golem. This extension barely widens the skeleton's FOV towards the Golem.

Checking in on 1.19.2 here. I got the farm to work, but I had to move the iron golem and cage 2 blocks closer to the skeleton. Hope this helps someone if they have similar issues with the skeleton not targeting the golem properly!

Just finished it on a Java 1.18.1 server, it works like a charm! I built it on an ocean to be sure. Getting the skeleton was a bit tricky, but not that bad. Also I increased the roof by 7 in every direction, since mob spawning now requires a light level 0. Thank you for the great tutorial!

For those in 1.19: if your skeleton doesnt shoot at the golem, move the golem and its cage 2 blocks down. Apparently the skeleton only sees its head

I used this to make a record company tower on my server. First floor is reception and this farm is the upper floors (recording studios). In the basement is a dance club with rgb beacons as a light show and redstone lamp dancefloor with colored glass blocks as a gradient! Also did patterns with flashing lights on the walls and behind the dj a big smiley face! Thanks for the vid, i only did one layer but still good enough for everyone on the server to have all the discs and plenty of gunpowder for rockets! Edit: I named the skeleton DJ Skelly Tone!

@@user-pn7jz9vr2z I converted my easy creeper farm to a disc farm. But with pistons, so I can change it back. Basically I can transport creepers away from my farm now/lava killing mechanism. Easy design like that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH67eatuoa1rbMk I just block of the waterway with 4 pistons and open a path (with 2 other pistons), then use soul sand to transport them 22blocks over the chest and let them fall down infront of the skeleton. Had a chest full within 10minutes :D

It is possible lol bc if you have crystals you can use them to respawn the dragon then using a ring manipulation you spawn an end gateway that will be on top of a block so bedrock can't be placed and will drop which you will take and then reuse make the dragon suffocate , or make it stuck and a lot of fun stuff It was also possible to go far away from the dragon and reset it's death animation in very early versions of the game , so you would drop plenty of xp

For anyone building this in 1.18 I’m not sure why, but the spawn spheres seem to be tweaked, they seem much smaller in the newer version I’m assuming they were made that way to avoid unnecessary entity lag from deep underground spawns, it’s either that or the server I’m on has tweaked spawn spheres, anyways I just lowered my platform down a bit from the recommended height (about 40 or so blocks) and started collecting items immediately. P.S. I built over an ocean and spawn proofed caves and the floor and such below the farm, the only thing affecting the rates would be the distance. TLDR: If you’re having trouble with creeper spawn rates, just lower your afk platform about half the recommended height and it should work.

Thanks for this! I was having the same problem. I got more drops when I was running around at the bottom of the farm than I did when I AFK’d for an hour! Lowering the platform 40 blocks fixed it.

Tip for a useful elevator if you don't have an Elytra, make a water elevator. 1- Make a safety dropzone with water where you can fall into going down (yes, you don't wanna get stuck up there now do you) 2- make a shaft up to the point where you need to go, some blocks away from the afk spot and finally make a runway to afk spot and an exit into the dropzone. 3- place water in the top spot of the elevator and let the water go down. 4- if you went up filling up the middle of the elevator you need to dig down again, you will need respiration 3 and aqua afinity for that. 5- place 2 signs or a door in the entrance of the elevator so water doesn't flow out 6- place kelp in the entire shaft 7- go down and break the kelp 8- place a block of soul sand below the water 9- enjoy the mach speed elevator

Guys I have seen people complaining on their farm not working because of the skelelton not shooting and if you are having that problem and want to fix it you simply just have to do everything what shulkercraft did but towards the end of the video where he says to place 7 temporary blocks and the 8th block being a building block, you have to place 5 temporary blocks with the 6th block being a building block.

I had issues with the skeleton shooting the golem. I moved the golem 2 blocks closer to the skeleton but the golem died while afking. I made sure to add blocks around the single block the golem was standing on so no skeletons could spawn at night and shoot it from below. I also added a trap door on top of the fence in front of the golem and a water stream in front of the golem. So even if the skeleton made a lucky shot through the slabs, the water would stop the arrow. It worked beautifully thanks for the tutorial.

For anyone building this farm: Remember to build the clock in ONE chunk! if you don't, than when you fly away and the chunks unload - your clock will get messed up and you'll need to repair it. On my survival world this happened all the time because I always forgot to turn it off (I have a simillar creeper farm). After rebuilding the clock in a single chunk, it still runs fine after a month of flying around my base.

For anyone whose skeleton is not shooting in the right direction as expected (after making sure that you haven't built anything wrong), set the difficulty to hard. The skeleton's accuracy is based on the game difficulty.

i have more farms in my SMP than I ever thought I would have. Anyway a good tip for those building: you can switch the crouch mode in accesibility settings by changing it to toggle. That will make the shift key act as a lever when it comes to crouching, so you don't have to hold shift all the time, just turn it on and off. This mode is also available for sprinting but I don't really recommend it. edit: It worked wonderfully. One hour and I already have about 6 sets of all discs (except pigstep of course). Making some sets in shulker boxes so I can surprise my friends

If you add a disc filtration system, this can easily turn into a modified gunpowder farm after you get all the discs you want :)

Creepers were spawning while I was on the ground getting the iron golum set up, but now that I am up on the afk platform (96 blocks, y level 105 to 201) and now they don't spawn. What happened and what can I do to fix this?

If you rename the shulker boxes in an anvil, it won't say "Shulker box" it will say whatever you put it as. You should make it say Shulkercraft.

The skeletons drop a 22 or 23 block drop so they go to 1 heart. The skeletons regular arrows should one shot them I think

If anyone is having trouble with the skeleton seeing the golem, you gotta be sure the skeleton is as close as possible to the edge of the block towards the golem and same with the golem on the block edge closest to the skeleton. You may have to push them around a bit or use pistons to move them ever so closer. If your skeleton is killing your golem, replace the bottom two front rows of fences with walls. Hope this helps!

In case that you are in 1.19 and it doesn't work, just put the slab that blocks the arrows 1 or 2 blocks behind so the skeleton shoots =)

Ok just a PSA, if the skeleton doesn’t shoot the golem because of the slab, setup a tripwire hook system which turns off a redstone torch that is powering a stick piston with a block on it, making the piston retract and then making the skeleton be able to shoot the golem, which kills the creepers. Hopefully that made sense.

For those in 1.19, put the golem on block seven, place bottom slab as in video then extend it three blocks towards golem. under those slabs leave a 1/2 block space and place another four half slabs leaving a 1/2 block opening for the skeleton to see the golem. the bottom row of top slabs catches the stray arrows.

for some reason, my water automatically turned into a lake of infinite water sources (probably cause the server im running on ig) so if you encounter this issue, just place the water in the corners, and three next to eachother in the middle of the flat sides. ill update my comment if i find anything else
