when you’re watching the hermits themselves they’re very nonchalant about what they do most of the time. it’s usually a simple “see that only took me two hours! it was rather easy as well deciding the gradients and texturing and gathering materials with the farms i have :)” and they gawk at each other’s bases (que Grian @ all of Scar’s S7-S8 builds) a lot too so it’s always just a bit of a ‘wow that’s so cool! anyways’ feeling but now that im not hearing these professionals describe things and watching normal people react to their masterpieces has made me realize just how fucking manic the hermits are

It's not just about doing anything in the game, it's also about the fact that a little bit of Java can literally let you do anything you want in the game. You can even play Mario within the game with pushbuttons if you want as a separate Java thing. :) MineCraft has created a LOT of coders over the years.
