Minecraft - Project Ozone 2 #1: Skyblock Reloaded (Kappa)

Minecraft modded. In this series we take on the Project Ozone 2 Kappa mode in a Skyblock style map. Kappa mode changes the recipes and game to be much more difficult to challenge seasoned mod pack players.
We're also trying this in hardcore mode, 3 lives to start with.

I think the faster pace has more to do with him having just played the mod pack in a single player game, also having recently played a whole skyblock series and most significantly cutting the grindy gameplay out of the videos. It seems pretty foolish to compare this to the unedited co-op series and blame Beef and Pause for the slow progression IMO. But I'm sure being free to concentrate helps a bit too.

I think this will be really cool. Etho is someone who usually just *plays* minecraft. In the multiplayer series he is often really far behind others in terms of "raw power" but that's because he just plays around. This is in no way an insult. I remember specifically watching an Etho video and an Xisuma video back to back where they were both setting up power generation, and even though Xisuma was making a massively larger amount of power, etho's system seemed more exciting and amazing. Personally I think this is because of how long etho has been playing minecraft. If he always rushed to the end he would run out of things to do and the episodes could get boring. However with this the end goal is so far off that even if he sprints for the end, there will still be a lot of things to do and stuff to farm. While etho's ability to give his series a more light and slow tone/pace is what makes me watch him more than others, I cant help but get the same feeling as you do when a cool but laid back character in a book or show decides to go all out and give it their all. This is one series i'm going to be looking forward to. Side question. Why doesn't Etho do livestreams? I know that not as many people would watch it, but I would enjoy seeing some of the off camera stuff. I'm guessing he has a reason for it and I could think of a couple, but does anyone know if hes specifically said *Why* he doesn't?

And in case you're wondering why i prefer single player it is because i started watching this channel because it was "Minecraft done technical". And when you're on your own you take your time and do things properly. You are one of the very few Minecraft players on KZbin who actually do that. But when you play with other people all that goes out the door. I understand some people want to watch that, but i personally don't like it.

I tend to like your solo content a lot better. Your multiplayer content is more like live streams, where they're less planned and more unedited content. Great for watching on the side when doing something else. Your solo content is more planned and edited, and I've always enjoy it better. It works better as standalone content, and I tend to enjoy watching it more. So another SP series is a definate plus for me.

A little late but chance cubes in other dimensions are a good idea. Bring an empty inventory and a chance cube into an rftools dimension and pop them there. If they are cool come back with tools, if it nukes everything it's not a loss.

It's a lazy approach to video making imho, as it draws out mundane tasks and creates boring videos with no progression.

It's silly to simplify it to "There's more money and views to it". It comes off like you're either trying to make excuses for it, or trying to put a negative spin on it. To put it the opposite way, there's less money and fewer views to it because it will cause more people to get bored and stop watching the series after just an episode or two, as it's lower quality. He could be lazy, he could have felt cuts ruined immersion, that he couldn't pull a cut off well enough to make it go smoothly, et cetera.
