"Minecraft Playstation Edition" is a game developed by Mojang Studios in the Year 1998 in a partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment for the Playstation Console released in 1994, this game was a pre-cursor to the classic 'Minecraft' of 2009, although not many people are aware of it due to it being pulled from store shelves just a year after release with only a 1000 or so copies ever being sold, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a copy at a retro game store about a month ago, here's my experience with the title.

You know... The worst part isn't Herobrine or that fact Mojang lied about the origins of this game for years... It's that Mojang took over 10 years to add the stuff from this edition back and pretend that it's new stuff.

Damm it is getting more creepy each day of the exploration, literally getting more on end and more anxious each new exploration, and no, you are not going insane, I can hear the whispering too. I feel the entities present on this build of the game are getting more aggressive each day, which is definitely not a good sign. Can’t wait for more, hang in there and good luck, I know it must be way scarier to play in person. PS: At this rate your PS1 could get wrecked, that amount of constant disk loading and glitched BIOS startup can’t be good.

iirc the startup sound’s function is to inform the user if the system’s working correctly and the disc is read correctly. it looks like the game needs to load lots of data off the disc and store all of it inside of RAM, occasionally re-reading data once the old data is no longer needed. maybe the game managed to save something inside of ROM (some “dark magic” trickery so the game can run at all?)

@@_memoryleak_you do make a good point, hmmm… It definitely could be a possibility, I have found it weird lately how such a game could run so well on the PS1 while fan attempts have struggled to do so on newer systems for quite a while now, there has to be some trickery to make the game run at all, and maybe you are correct on your statement.

I got a tip for the next time you document some more gameplay, try using some redstone to make like, basic traps. Y'know, tripwire that triggers a noteblock. It could help, who knows.

I don't know how you can keep playing this. Personally, if I had even made it this far, my psychiatrist would have to tell my family something like "you can't save him now." Because I'd be in too deep, y'know? The atmosphere is great, like many games of it's time, but the whispering is driving me mad. what if you had the whoever is playing the game say that they are going to go do something in their house, and they leave the PS running and will be right back. When they get up, the little steve in the corner begins to mimic their movements in the house. Not like fluidly with head turning and stuff, but he walks when they walk, in the direction they walk relative to the PS. maybe he ticks red if they get hurt or something. just to imply that they are A: being tracked, or B: are tied to the game somehow.

I just binged all of your videos (except the music) and I want to say that these videos are very well made. I remember playing the Gameboy Color Version of Minecraft when I was younger. (also it's my personal head cannon that the music we hear in regular Minecraft was remade by c418 or just re-released somehow)

NO WAY DUDE, I think I was the only one who knew about the Gameboy color edition. I always told my friends that I played Minecraft a very long time ago before it's release in 2009 but nobody believed me. What a shame that the Gameboy Advance version never got released due to the low sales.
