You forgot two things: A replicating flying machine, using chunk duplication (MythicalPingu and some other technical players). The first flying machine for 1.5 (Myren Eario and somebody else). The machine is huge (70 blocks wide), because it cannot use slime, honey or observers. Only pistons, redstone blocks and some arbitrary solid blocks are used.
