Minecraft's *NEW*, Fastest, Single Dimension, Gold Farm

As of this video upload, this is the fastest single dimension gold farm in Minecraft. Works in MC 1.20 & 1.20.1

Thanks for all the love and support for this video. Definitely not in the realm of what I normally do, but it's all a learning process! Some general responses: I won't be offering a world download, but you can use litematica in the description to paste the schematic in and all the rails should align properly. Info here: github.com/maruohon/litematica/wiki/Schematic-Pasting Kill Chamber: player stands in cauldron. Attack armor stand every 12 game ticks. Enchantments needed: Sweeping Edge 3, Mending. Everything else optional - No fire aspect or Knockback.

You could probably dispense carved pumpkins onto the pigmen at the end of the spawning platforms to free up the mobcap quicker, as well as maybe tnt looting for lower mob lifetime.

I've built the one at build height and it works great :) The only tricky part are the rails on top of trapdoors but you explained it really well. I've also never seen the items being split on both edges of the ice, so I added shulker loaders on both sides of the ice track to collect the gold nuggets. Pretty fun, thanks dude!

A couple tips for anyone about to build: -Make sure your simulation distance is the same as your render distance. If not then you will have a loud and annoying problem.(16 chunks I believe) -If you want all the drops to be on one side of the ice bridge just replace one of the two honey blocks (the ones right above the chests) with a slime block. -Build yourself a resistance/regen beacon if you wanna afk plus its a little sketchy getting out of the killing area. This is awesome. I can only imagine the time and headache that went into the original design with all the precise rail placements

Man, all those minecarts in such close proximity gives me the heeby jeebies..... one collision and it's a pileup to end the bravest of CPU's. On a happier note though, for a first tut, I think you done a better job than most out there. It was well thought out and well delivered. If I have a notion to perim my Nether.... I'll definitely make this my go to gold farm, if anything because it looks bloody marvelous :)

If you can put pumpkin heads on the zombie piglings and recycle them when they are killed, you can slightly increase the farm productivity.

awesome combo of the inspiration vids.. :D 8 itrains into 1 kill chamber is sick though fr some points tho: doesnt the redrock roof defeat the purpose of buillding at low y? why not add viable blocks for pack spawning like a skirt? bedrock i think is not a selectable block, and if it were the flat y level of the spawn platforms thatd help rates considering not all the carts are full?

Yes and No on the bedrock roof. I tested it extensively and @ 19:53 I show the rates with and without the roof, with and without a spawn skirt. There is definitely a reason to remove the bedrock roof, to increase the spawn rates and get more gold, but its only like 100 blocks difference. Same with the spawn skirts. The farm kind of approaches the maximum kill rate and we see the farm without a skirt AND without the bedrock roof being the fastest design, which is not exactly what we would expect. In the end, its not that difficult to add a spawn skirt to a design, its just a lot of glass, hence why I provided the options :)

Very cool stuff. Wouldn't it also be possible to build it on top of the nether roof? As long as everything below the roof is spawn-proof, it should have similar rates to a perimeter with roof because the spawning platforms are just 3-4 blocks higher than the nether roof. Or am I missing something?

Yes, If everything below the roof is spawnproof, you should be able to build it at any height, even right on top of the roof. You will get probably ~150k total drops/hr (but that's just an estimate). The Y-level is completely customizable and its fully in a nether waste biome!

It's a good thing I didn't market it as a starter farm. Most expensive is probably the powered rails (like 30 stacks) so you need the gold. Fortunately it's expandable and you can toggle the different sections on by just not filling the specific minecart storages up.

Edit: nvm, I should have watched the ending of the video lol. Dangerous half-knowledge here: Isn't there a mechanic in the spawn algorithm that makes it so you not only want a farm to be as deep down as possible, but also need to remove all blocks over the farm? Or is that something that was removed in more recent versions and I just missed it? Don't get me wrong, the farm is very fast already, but I feel like there might be room for improvement because of that mechanic.

I's got a decent look to it , but it's doesn't strictly meet the 1d claim in the title - it *could* be extended out laterally, but chunkloading and spawn behaviors would interfere with that... it's neat, but the claim feels misplaced.
