A few tips for you guys: 1. Vein mining is in this pack. Check your controls, I think the default key conflicts, I set mine to the "grave/tilda" key. Vein mining works on trees and leaves, it makes using the crook much easier. 2. Make compressed crooks by laying out 4 crooks in the same pattern you use to go make the crooks. These two things makes harvesting lots of saplings very easy.

About 5 mins ago, roughly 5/6 hours into my Sky factory 2.5 world I got a common loot bag. I opened it up and got a rainbow glowing object that levitated into the air when I placed it down in the middle of my base. The next thing I knew I was blinded and I was surrounded my 10 creepers. They all blew up, I died. Ok fine, as long as my base is still fine. I respawn to find everything destroyed as I fall again and again into the void. I guess i'l just stick to watching Etho play this

should turn on the optional mod "vain miner"!!! saves SOOO much time for harvesting! simply have to hold down the button while breaking a block and it breaks all of the same kind connected adjacently or diagonally to that block as well (uses durability on your tools as if you mined each one individually, and costs a bit of hunger to use)

Etho, when you get an item, ALWAYS check what you can craft with it. It's pretty common for there to be crafting items that use rotten flesh to make leather or at least make it a better food.

Holding the grave (~) key and mining one tree block with an axe will mine the whole tree (works with the hammer and cobble). There is also a super-easy way to get cobble, shift-right click on dirt and there is a chance you will get a pebble (I exploit this with a clicker program), 4 pebbles is one cobble. There is a wooden crucible that composts saplings into water, which can be transported with a clay bucket. You should make stone tinker tools, keep the minicio essence, you will need a lot of it, and putting the achievement book on top of the trapdoor recipe in a crafting table to make a block version. ... I've played sky factory a few times

Quick tip: a good early food source is dried meat from tinker's construct. This can be made by putting rotten flesh on a drying rack, which is made with three slabs.

The minicio essence is from magic crops if you plant it and work with the mod you can grow resources like diamonds, and wither skulls. It can also be used to make armor that enables flight and a sword that hits like a truck.

When you fall off the void and die the gravestone still stays down their and you can still get you items

but if you gone below 0 y coord you get damaged and the grave spawns where you die and because your falling your falling speed affect on how early you will die in the void so the grave always spawns at negative y coords which is where the void are. dont quote me on this its just my theory never tested it

Hey Etho, you should make drying racks (I think they're called that) it's just three wood plank slabs in a row, then you can hang the rotten flesh up to turn into jerky so it won't give you the hunger debuff when you eat it.

Guys, two things. #1 use vein miner by holding down the ~ button while breaking a block while you have something in your hand. #2 the best way to get a load of dirt is having a long row of saplings in a 5x some big number, with the center being clear. Run through and vein mine crook the leaves whenever one grows and continue until all the saplings have grown. Then you can simply vein mine all of the wood at once

you guys should make an easy fall damage mod farm for loot bags. or use water and spikes. spikes kill the mobs so if they end up on it the items will stay there and you can grab them

Etho, once you have enough stuff to make a bucket, invest in magical crops. You can get dirt, iron, diamond, gold, wither heads, ect. from the crops. You can also make OP armor and weapons.

Hey Etho, here's some tips: veinminer allows you to break connected logs when pressing " ~ " you can craft a slab furnace from Tcon to save cobble make drawers for fancy storage (once you have things to store) type "/emotes list" to see a list of emotes to troll pause and beef with apparently looking up while it rains replenishes hunger? not sure

If you hold the grave key whilst chopping the trees it will chop the whole tree down. It's part of the mod VeinMiner. Love this series keep the episodes coming :D

Here's a good tip: for the larger trees that grow, make wooden stairs so you will lose hunger at a slower rate since jumping up while building a block tower will use more hunger. Also, you are able to cook and eat the silk worms when you get to the point of making cobble and then producing lava. If you need any other help, check out Direwolf20's videos with Soaryn. I forgot the series, but he does an entire series dealing with these mods.

if you're using the alternative terrain gen then you use to be able to right click a piece of dirt with an empty hand and get pebbles made getting cobble that much faster. slab furnace is a little cheaper then a reg furnace oh and you can use tinkers construct drying racks to turn the zombie flesh into monster jerky, gets rid of the hunger debuff. other then that another good episode =) it's fun watching you guys derp so hard

This Mod pack contains several mods to speed up early gameplay. Veinminer let's you break all connected blocks of the same type, just hold down '~' when breaking a block. Ex Compressum lets you combine tools together to break more blocks at a time, just look up the various recipes in NEI.

Hey etho, Just a quick tip, there is a mod in sky factory 2.5 that is called vein miner. The default key is "~". Hold down this key while breaking a block and it will destroy all of the blocks of the same type that has contact with the block. Very helpful for chopping down trees!!!

You can hammer wood logs into wood chippings, put those into a barrel and get more dirt to sift so you can make a furnace and fire that crucible up.

Mr.Slab, if you fall in the void, your grave spawns on a dirt block that is 1 above the void, so you could waterdrop, fly down, and build a holding "chamber" around the 1x1 dirt block and break your grave and you should get all your stuff back.

Is Tinker's Construct in this modpack? That mod could mine down the entire mega rubber tree, once you get enough metal to cast the parts for a Lumber Axe. Using it as a mob farm is good, but sometimes when you need to service the mob trap, like when changing or adding machines to it, Creepers can get shot by Skeletons that will see you and if a Creeper blows up, whatever part of the mob farm was around them gets holes blown into it! I think Extra Utilities had compressed cobblestone or something that would be blast resistant, or blast-proof. If not, find out if Thaumcraft is in this modpack, and use warded blocks for the outside of a mob trap, if it's available.

Also, Etho, falling into the void actually... does make sure you don't get it, but they aren't lost, because you spawn in a gravestone in the air dying in the void, which means that, if mod like blood magic is on, which has a way of protecting against void dmg, you can actually get your items back... but... well, right now if you fall down into the void and die, you ain't getting them back anytime soon, and by soon i mean before you get a jetpack of a sort, and something ike void sigil, you are not going down there XD

I found a better source for dirt than just saplings. Use a hammer on a log and it will drop 1-4 bits of wood pulp (or whatever it's called), which contribute the same toward composting as saplings. I find birch trees average about 20-30 pulp per tree, oak should be about the same except for the big trees. Add the dirt from the saplings, and you're set.

etho you guys can use drying racks from tinkers' something to dry zombie flesh for food also you guys should thank the minecraft lords that you found a low-tier super rubber sapling instead of the higher ones I went in creative once and used the biggest one. it basically took up the world, and 50 buckets of pyrotheum from the top of the tree weren't enough to even kill the trunk.

Etho, you need to make a SLAB Furnice because it takes less stone to make rather than a furnace. Then you take the unfired crucible and put it into the furnace. Then you can make lava. See I still remember from your old videos from Crash Landing
