You know, if you need more netherwort, you can grow it. You can make a building in the nether, place soul sand on the ground, and plant netherwort in it. It grows a bit like wheat produces seeds (gets bigger over time, and fully-grown drop multiple items). So, as long as you keep a bit to start with, you can get as much as you need.

@Ahmed176E glowstone used to be classified as "stone", but i think in 1.7 or something, notch classified it as "glass" so you can use your hand to get materials from it.

Naka, a tip for fighting ghasts is to use fishing rods to pull them closer so you can hit them with your sword.

Funny that just before seeing this I explored a Fort myself; dangeous locations indeed, and VERY easy to get lost! So I wall off areas with cobble stone. I also envy your spawn points, both as where to begin and whare your Nether Portal showed up. Let it be known, at least, I have a mutual hate of Blazes! I'm lucky to have gotten a brew stand running, and I still need more Glowstone! Confound you Nether, why are you amazeing and deadly at the same time?!

It's possible to get trapped in the nether if you don't bring flint & steel, since the ghasts can blow out the portal. They don't damage the obsidian, but their blast deactivates the portal itself.

No problem. ^_^ The abyss is what's beyond the bedrock, so if you manage to get past the unbreakable bedrock, you fall through the world and eventually die. Its the same with the Nether's ceiling, except you don't fall upwards, that would just be awkward. If you climb out of it you start to lose health and you die, but that's assuming you can even GET through the ceiling of bedrock. I have yet to find a way.

@NoctournalDonut It opens up a portal into the normal overworld. If you already have a portal into the Nether in the vicinity of your new Portal in the Netherworld (1 step in the Nether = 8 steps in the normal world), then both Nether-portals will lead to the same world-portal. Otherwise, it'll spawn a new portal in the real world as well.

You can make netherbrick and netherbrick fences the same way you make stone brick and regular fences, but with netherrack.

-Obligatory Stargate reference goes here- Okay, Naka. It's clear what you've got to do to fix all of this. You gotta' go back to the year 1955, get the Sports Almanac and burn it with your flame thrower. Just remember not to run into your other self...or Ogre. He pushes people into lava. If you encounter a police officer looking for a young boy, run the other way. To get back, take the green pill. It's minty. Put the four elements around and the girl in the center. That should do it.

Oh man... I can't even begin to describe how painful the Nether is for me. I'm just... Super unlucky. Delightfully unlucky. That was a pretty awesome trek down in there, Naka. @NoctournalDonut If memory serves you build a portal back home. It will appear in a spot much further away from the first one. If memory serves a single block in the nether=8 blocks in the normal world.

11:03 my guess is the smaller one was a outpost watching one of this main fortress's border's. The nether always always ALWAYS makes me uneasy as hell. I know I am invincible (Creative mode) but still its just the atmosphere. the oppressiveness of this place that just makes me want to GTFO asap. The presence of Nether Fortresses makes me uneasy. it makes me wonder "Who came before you. How many came before you and tried to secure the nether with these grand buildings? Why... did they fail?"
